The man best known as TV’s small town, soft spoken Andy Taylor has died.
Actor Andy Griffith died Tuesday at the ripe old age of 86. Best known for his starring role on “The Andy Griffith Show” as Sheriff Andy Taylor, and as the title character in “Matlock,” Griffith was a respected and beloved television veteran, who was credited with launching the career of actor turned director Ron Howard.
Upon Griffith’s death, a private service was held for close family and friends. At his request, he was immediately buried within 5 hours of his passing.
