Actor Cory Monteith has died.
The 31-year-old Monteith, who played “Finn” on the hit Fox television show GLEE, passed away over the weekend in a Vancouver hotel.
According to hotel authorities, Monteith missed his 12 noon check-out on Saturday. When hotel staff went up to check on the room, they found Monteith deceased for what appeared to be several hours.
Police have ruled out foul play after hotel surveillance cameras captured Monteith entering his room alone for the night. Monteith did have a long history of drug abuse and admitted he was “lucky to be alive” after years of taking “anything and everything.” After admitting himself into a drug rehab center in April, Monteith’s GLEE co-star and real life girlfriend Lea Michele said she “loved and supported” Monteith and “was proud he was seeking help” for his out of control habit.
Police are investigating the death of Cory Monteith as a possible overdose.
Upon hearing the news yesterday, I was immediately struck by just how common this kind of sad news has become over the years…a young life ended much too soon due to________(fill in the blank) drug addiction and/or alcoholism, and/or mental illness….gun/gang related violence. You name it.
We don't yet know what causd his death(?) Could be related to a medical problem(?)
But my opinion of Most drug & alcohol rehabs (especially celebrity rehabs) is this:
They're absolutely Worthless. I view them as dangerous at best (along the line of ex-gay therapy) designed to actually do one thing, MAKE MONEY for its investors while peddling pure BS which usually leads to sad..and even tragic…outcomes.
