REMEMBERING ELIZABETH EDWARDS

Spread The Love
Elizabeth Edwards
1949 – 2010
6 years ago, Elizabeth Edwards was told she had breast cancer.
Over the years she fought the disease into remission, standing by the side of her husband John Edwards during his bid for Vice-President along with John Kerry in 2004, and then again during a run for President in 2008.  But that same year, Elizabeth learned that her husband was having an affair and had fathered a child with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, which led to the Edwards’ separating. Elizabeth also learned that her cancer had returned and that she would soon be in the battle of her life.
Elizabeth bravely and aggressively fought the disease until doctors informed her last week that further treatment would be futile, and that she likely had only weeks to live.  But at 10:15am yesterday morning, Elizabeth Edwards ended her fight and passed away at her home in Chapel Hill, NC, with her children and estranged husband by her side.
On Monday, only 1 day before her untimely death, Elizabeth Edwards took to her Facebook page to thank supporters.  No one knew these would be her last words:

“The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful.”

She seemed like a great lady. RIP

Truthiz

I held off commenting on this until today because quite honestly, her death hit me a little hard and I'm not sure why(?) But she seemed to be a devoted wife and mother and just a good human-being.Sista Toldja posted a wonderful tribute to Mrs. Edwards on her site:"Elizabeth Edwards: Grace and Resilience"…http://thebeautifulstruggler.com/May she rest in Peace.
