Singer Eydie Gorme has died.
The wife and singing partner of Steve Lawrence passed away Saturday in Las Vegas following a brief illness. Her husband and son were by her side.
“Eydie has been my partner on stage and in life for more than 55 years,” Lawrence said in a statement. “I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and even more the first time I heard her sing. While my personal loss is unimaginable, the world has lost one of the greatest pop vocalists of all time.”
Eydie Gorme was 84.
When I heard the news yesterday, I immediately went to Youtube and watched/ listened to a few of their memorable videos. The were great together. As I child I remember my grandmother (and even my mother) enjoying their music whenever they were on tv.
He's really going to miss her.
