Remembering Oscar de la Renta
The man responsible for the fashionable looks of Jacqueline Kennedy, Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush and most recently the new bride of actor George Clooney, has died.

Legendary fashion designer Oscar de la Renta died yesterday after an 8 year battle with cancer.
De la Renta, who most recently designed Amal Clooney’s wedding dress, was born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, before leaving home at the age of 18 to study painting. After landing in Madrid, de la Renta developed a love of fashion design and began an apprenticeship with Cristóbal Balenciaga, who became his mentor.
After creating various designs for first lady Jaqueline Kennedy during the early 1960’s, de la Renta launched his own label and soon after became a household name.
Oscar de la Renta was 82.
