Exactly 3 years ago today, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by rogue neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman.  This mournful anniversary comes only days after the U.S. Justice Department decided not to file civil rights charges against Trayvon’s killer. 

Despite ignoring the warnings of the 911 operator and stalking Trayvon through his own housing development, Zimmerman cried self-defense in the murder.  His defense team secured an acquittal by painting the young Trayvon as a hoodie-wearing thug who, despite going to a nearby 7-11 for a package of Skittles, was only out looking for trouble.  Was Trayvon Martin truly the real thug here?
