REPUBLICAN HURRICANE

Spread The Love

As TS Isaac develops into hurricane strength and barrels toward New Orleans, the Republican Party is planning one big hoopla of a party.  Odd?  You better believe it!

The Republican National Convention was slated to begin yesterday in Tampa, but threats of a deadly storm caused the GOP to postpone the start of their festivities until today.  The theory was to allow the storm to bypass the western seaboard of Florida, then pop the corks on the champagne bottles and let the party begin.  Republican delegates would be out of harms way, the sun would be shining down on the Florida fun and all would be right with the world, right?  Um… not so fast!

By tomorrow, TS Isaac could become Hurricane Isaac, just as it makes contact with the State of Louisiana.  Tomorrow also happens to be the 7th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the historic storm that completely devastated New Orleans when the levees broke and flooded most of the city.

So, while Republicans plan to party it up in Tampa, residents of New Orleans and the surrounding states could be reliving the horrific events of Hurricane Katrina from 7 years ago.  Can you imagine the split television screen and PR nightmare that could create for the Grand Ole’ Party?

Republicans are adamant they will not postpone the Romney-Ryan “rah-rah” party any longer.  But if Hurricane Isaac wreaks any significant havoc in the Gulf region, they could be forced to pull back on some of the fun — if not cancel more events all together.

Of course they could just party it up and forget all about those people who are in harms way — you know, like usual!
