Republican vs Democratic Conventions

Spread The Love

Now that Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are the official nominees of their respective parties, it’s time to take a look at the stark differences between the Republican vs Democratic conventions.

Politics :
During its 4-day convention, the GOP drove home a theme of doom and gloom, claiming that America is in peril.

Republican vs Democratic Conventions

Trump and his MAGA minions attempted to scare the living daylight out of Americans that illegal immigrants are running rampant through the streets wildly looting businesses and raping (White) women. They also claimed morality is dead, the sanctity of marriage is dead, dangerous gays and lesbians are infiltrating the minds of children, religion is at risk, and the traditional family is near extinction.

By contrast, the 4-day Democratic convention was a celebration filled with joy and optimism for the future.

The Kamala Harris-led DNC was a week-long party. No one will ever forget the dance party roll call, the multiple DJs who encouraged delegate dancing, the surprise appearance (during the roll call) by rapper Lil’ Jon, or the celebrity performances that spanned all musical genres from Country & Western to R&B. The Democrats also laid heavily into patriotism, including huge American flags everywhere and chants of “USA” (a call Republicans have attempted to claim as exclusively their own).

Trump’s signs were pessimistic and read “Mass Deportation Now!” and “Stop Biden’s Border Bloodbath.”

Kamala’s “USA” and “Union YES!” signs were patriotic and offered hope for a better future.

Trump’s convention theme was about himself. Kamala’s theme was about “The People.”

“Harris’ backdrop was more traditional American imagery while Trump’s was Trump imagery,” said Christian Grose, a professor of political science and public policy at the University of Southern California. “That’s an important contrast.”

Perhaps the most striking difference between the Republican vs Democratic conventions was each candidate’s stage design.

During her acceptance speech, Vice President Harris stood in front of a row of American flags. However, when Trump spoke, he stood in front of a Broadway-style display of his own name in lights.

“The theme that came up in the Democratic Convention was one of more joy or hope or future,” Grose said. “And you saw that anytime the signage was there, it was usually in that direction — even when they’re trying to discuss policy.”

Additionally, Kamala’s face was far less prevalent at the DNC than Trump’s was at the RNC.

“The positive signage and the positive message can make voters feel better and more motivated,” Grose said. “When you’re thinking about the sliver of undecided voters, or maybe the people that aren’t that excited about either candidate, the positive imagery and the positive signage can potentially move people in that direction.”

Clearly, the biggest difference between the Republican vs Democratic conventions is that Kamala Harris presented herself as a champion for the people, whereas Donald Trump exposed himself as a champion for Donald Trump.

Yes indeed. And so much so that even a blind man could see it!

But honestly, it should have surprised no one. Afterall, he’s been showing America who, and what, he is for decades now.

Okay so on a related note…..

If Kamala wins (and right now it looks like she may just do it) she had better understand that she Must prove she really is “a champion for the people.” The future of Our country and Our democracy depends on her doing just that!

She must wake up Every morning on a Mission. And while No serious person would ever expect her to win every battle, she is expected to truly fight for what is right for poor, blue collar, and middle class working people/families. The backbone of America. 🇺🇸
