REPUBS RIP WALL ST. OCCUPIERS

Spread The Love

The “Wall St. Occupiers” continue to protest in lower Manhattan and around the country, collectively demonstrating against big banks, big business, the lack of jobs and more. The group has grown in numbers as protesters have traveled from far away destinations, opting to sleep on the streets or in homeless shelters just to be present and to have their voices heard. But apparently, certain members of the Republican party are not at all supportive of or amused with the demonstrations, and have begun lashing out at the group in some rather unwise fits of frenzy.

Rep. Peter King

New York congressman Peter King and GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain are among a growing list of Republicans who are unimpressed with the Occupy Wall Street protesters and their nationwide counterparts, calling them a “ragtag mob” and “anarchists.”

“The fact is these people are anarchists. They have no idea what they’re doing out there,” King said. “They have no sense of purpose other than a basically anti-American tone and anti-capitalist. It’s a ragtag mob basically.” King, whose Long Island district includes many Wall Street commuters, dismissed the demonstrators as “a bunch of angry 1960s do-overs” trying “to create chaos and take away the focus on the Obama record.”  Hmmm…

Herman Cain

Next up was former Godfather’s Pizza CEO and current GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, who blatantly told protesters they have no one else to blame for their situation in life. “I don’t have facts to back this up, but I happen to believe that these demonstrations are planned and orchestrated to distract from the failed policies of the Obama administration,” Cain said during a book signing event. “Don’t blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks, if you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself!” SERIOUSLY???

Either these men truly believe that igniting their base with such vitriol is in their best interest, or neither of them really wants to ever hold public office (again).
