RIP Black Friday — or, at least the way we used to think of Black Friday.

The “old” Black Friday of camping outside malls, pushing and shoving our way into big box stores, and clawing our way to grab a TV marked 20% off is dead. COVID killed it in 2020 and we should all probably be thankful.
The barbaric concept of Black Friday is simply no more. Gone for good. Sadly, malls and shopping centers across the country have already closed or will close and soon be gone for good. However, the positive news is that we can still do our holiday shopping and grab all sorts of deals on Black Friday without needing to camp outside a store overnight. In fact, we’re no longer even limited to just the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The internet, online shopping, curbside pick up, and shipping online purchases as gifts to anywhere we want are all part of the wave of the future.
So, Rest In Peace Black Friday of old. Long live the NEW Black Friday of the future.
