RNC 2016: The Very Best Highlights
The 2016 Republican National Convention (RNC) has come and gone and was very “entertaining” — except not for reasons the GOP had hoped. In fact, for those in attendance the RNC convention was a great big snooze-fest.

Donald Trump promised big named celebrities, then delivered 1980’s has-been Scott Baio of TV’s “Joanie Loves Chachi” fame. Trump and company created slick nightly themes including “Make America Safe Again” and “Make America Work Again,” then used each night to merely beat down Hillary Clinton and barely (if at all) discuss safety or jobs. Trump promised diversity and paraded the founder of “American Muslims for Trump” onto the stage for a prayer, who was afraid to use the word “Allah” and was met by “No Islam” chants from some in the crowd.
Trump himself even managed to upstage his own convention by calling into Fox News to insult Ohio’s Gov. John Kasich, while an important speech against Hillary Clinton and Benghazi was being delivered at the RNC. Then there was a hilarious speech shouted loudly from “America’s Mayor” Rudy Giuliani, who said Trump loves all people “from the top to the bottom, from the middle to the side…” all while pointing in precisely the opposite direction of his own words.
However, the most talked about event of the week was not Trump’s 90-minute acceptance speech Thursday night — it was the plagiarized speech of Melania Trump, who stole words from Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech and made it her own. Although a Trump campaign staffer has since come forward to publicly admit she plagiarized the speech, that memo apparently never reached Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. As of yesterday, Manafort was still appearing on TV news shows to convince Americans the speech was not plagiarized, and that all of our ears were lying to us. Hmmm…
Well, leave it to CBS’ Stephen Colbert of “The Late Show” to make light of the Melania Trump speech, with an appearance of a spot-on impersonator depicting the night Melania stole from Michelle. Check it out:
THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!
Lol. That video is funny. Thanks DJ.
And let me just say ..I commend anyone who was able to sit through even one night of that convention let alone sit through 2, or 3, or 4 nights of it!?! I honestly don't know how you did it.
I tried to watch last night but after about 10 minutes I couldn't stomach any more of it so I turned it off.
Here's hoping the Dems do a much better job at their convention next week, especially with the bar now being set so low. I hope they hit it out the park.
But the truth is, if it's just Hate-free I'll be satisfied.
TGIF!
