The “family values” themed Republican National Committee (RNC) spent nearly $2,000 last month at an erotic, bondage-style West Hollywood, CA sex club, where nearly naked women and men simulated sex in nets and cages. The RNC’s risqué and questionable business expense was for a night out at the high-end S&M club VOYEUR on Feb. 4th, in the traditionally gay West Hollywood section of Los Angeles that is filled with sex clubs.
An embarrassed RNC spokesman insisted that party head Michael Steele, who is already under fire for running up outlandish expenses, was not among the revelers. “The chairman was never at the location in question he had no knowledge of the expenditure, nor does he find the use of committee funds at such a location at all acceptable,” the RNC spokesman said.
Party officials refused to clarify how anyone at the RNC could have found the expense appropriate, or been bold enough to submit it as legitimate. The right-leaning blog, RedCounty.com, reported that the outing was part of an RNC push to recruit local “eagles,” the party’s honorary tag for young, big-ticket donors. But we believe the RNC members were just out looking to get their freak on in West Hollywood! Needless to say, the RNC demanded a refund and launched an investigation Monday.
