The man whose brutal beat down from members of the Los Angeles Police Department prompted the Los Angeles riots of 1991, has died.
Rodney King died yesterday, apparently due to an accidental drowning.
Police in Rialto, CA said they got a 911 call from King’s fiancee around 5:25am, after she found King at the bottom of the pool. Officers tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at 6:11am at a local hospital. Although there were no signs of foul play, detectives were still conducting an investigation.
Rodney King was 47.
