ROMNEY NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME

Spread The Love

Mitt Romney’s “47%” comments have set off a mutiny within the Republican Party. Several high profile conservatives are beginning to recognize it’s time to distance themselves from the man they made their nominee only 3 weeks ago and prepare for a potentially devastating loss.

Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada is one such Republican, who took offense to Romney’s remarks and has now turned his back on the nominee.

“Keep in mind, I have five brothers and sisters. My father was an auto mechanic. My mother was a school cook. I have a very different view of the world,” Heller said. “And as a United States senator, I think I represent everyone, and every vote’s important. Every vote’s important in this race. I don’t write off anybody.”

Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts and Senatorial candidate from Connecticut Linda McMahon, both of whom are in tight races in their respective states, have also decided to cut and run from Romney.

But it is conservative columnist Peggy Noonan who delivered the most scathing tongue lashing against her party’s nominee.

Regarding Romney’s leaked fundraiser video, Noonan said, “This is not how big leaders talk, it’s how shallow campaign operatives talk.”

She added how the now viral gaffe has exposed huge discord within the campaign:

“It’s time to admit the Romney campaign is an incompetent one. It’s not big, it’s not brave, it’s not thoughtfully tackling great issues. It’s always been too small for the moment. All the activists, party supporters and big donors should be pushing for change. People want to focus on who at the top is least constructive and most responsible. Fine, but Mitt Romney is no puppet: He chooses who to listen to. An intervention is in order. ‘Mitt, this isn’t working.'”

Mr. BD

This is big news. Palenty was his boy for a long time. I read there's a lot of infighting going on at Romney headquarters. Everybodys running out of that burning building.
