If you’ve ever heard the old saying “A rose is still a rose,” you may want to rethink that after reading this shocker.

Students at Philadelphia’s St. Anselm Catholic Elementary School thought it would be a great fundraiser to host a plant sale so that kids could purchase roses for their moms on Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, the — ahem — roses the school ordered online for sale weren’t exactly what they expected.
Instead, the school mistakenly ordered red thong underwear folded into the shape of the delicate red flower. Ooops!
“The roses sold at our Mother’s Day plant sale were not the single faux flowers originally intended,” the school said in a statement. “Instead, the item was a Valentine’s Day gift intended for adults. The administration will determine how the error occurred and take steps to prevent a further recurrence.”
