On Wednesday, federal agents conducted the Rudy Giuliani raid by searching the home and office owned by the former NYC mayor and current Trump-flunkie.  Although the raid was ordered on the premise of being a criminal probe into Giuliani’s business dealings in Ukraine, it was actually an extension of the methodical takedown of one Donald J. Trump.
Agents seized documents, communications devices, and other evidence that could end up implicating Giuliani and/or even Donald Trump in the very near future. However, the Rudy Giuliani raid was less of a reconnaissance mission and more of an “intimidation” event.
“This was a show of force that sent a strong message to a lot of people in Trump’s world that other things may be coming down the pipeline,” a Trump adviser surmised.
With Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance and NY State Attorney General Letitia James out to nab Trump for decades of corruption, the Rudy Giuliani raid was an old mobster trick designed to turn Trump’s inner circle against him for information and testimony.
By going after Giuliani and holding charges over his head that could put him away for the rest of his life, the feds are anticipating that Rudy will eventually crack under pressure (just as former Trump lawyer and friend Michael Cohen did) and sing like a canary to bring ‘The Donald’ down.
“Even the most loyal people have their breaking point,” said a Trump loyalist.
As one adviser put it, the raid has already ignited a sense of fear inside Trump’s orbit that Justice Department officials may be prepared to pursue more investigations of the Trump inner circle than many allies had previously believed.
“I can’t for the life of me think why you would need to send seven FBI agents to go and collect a cellphone and laptop,” said the adviser, who described the Giuliani raid as “overkill.”
Still, officials believe that Giuliani’s seemingly steadfast loyalty to Trump won’t withstand the weight of potential criminal charges. Or, in other words, even Giuliani can be intimidated into submission.

Well…we shall see.
For awhile now I’ve been thinking that Trump must have something really heavy hanging over Giuliani’s heads for Giuliani to have so thoroughly trashed his own reputation and career. Frankly, I think the damage done is irreparable no matter how the rest of it plays out.
And we’ll have to wait and see how the rest of it plays out.
