I know, I know…that headline is enough to make you either double over with uncontrollable laughter, or double over a toilet with uncontrollable nausea. But although it may appear to be a sick joke, some within the GOP aren’t laughing. Reports are that some conservatives are so incensed with the idea of Barack Obama in the White House, that they long for the good old days of Dick Cheney lurking in the bowels of his secret hiding place while running the country. And they want him to run for President in 2012!

Dick Cheney (who will be 71 in 2012) has a strong 66% approval rating among conservatives who believe in his ideals. Cheney has been an extremely visible critic of the Obama White House to the point of it being near overkill and he is currently writing a new book. Could the man who always claimed he never wanted the job actually be aligning himself to seize the nomination in 2012? The very idea already has some Republicans giddy as a schoolgirl on Christmas Eve. Look out Sarah Palin!
