It’s like this with me BD…this will take a minute.

I think I shared with readers here that For Years I had struggled with my sexual orientation. I tried praying it away and spent many many nights crying about it. But it never went away. Finally in my late 20s I had a heartfelt conversation with my mother about it. My mom was a deeply religious woman but never judgmental or fanatic in her faith. She loved her child and was tired of seeing me suffering. I miss her dearly!

Anyway, she told me something that allowed me to move forward with my life in a more healing (less painful) way and positive direction. My mother said – although she didn’t understand “homosexuality” she understood having to bear one’s Cross…and that for all we know Perhaps this is the Cross I must bear(?)

In short: I have no choice about being gay and so until or unless God delivers me from it, I must bear this Cross and live my life to the best of my ability.

However, when it comes to marriage, I have a choice. I love my partner very much but I choose NOT to marry because I consider marriage to be a “Sacred” union between two people joined together…By God.

And amazingly, my partner totally agrees with me!

Hey Truth I was wondering what happen to you on this topic. So I swung by today to see if you ever made a comment. I remember you told us you have a female partner and I was curious. What is it about gay marriage that you do not believe in?

However, I am fully supportive of 2 consenting adults being able to marry no matter their sexual orientation and to have their marriage legally recognized across all state lines.
