According to their website, Sandy Hook Promise is a national non-profit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, the group’s intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning tragedy into a moment of transformation by providing programs and practices that protect children and prevent the senseless, tragic loss of life.
Now, with that said, SHP has come out the starting gate with a gripping PSA entitled “Back-To-School Essentials” that will absolutely floor you. It provides a raw look at the realities of our kids today and how their back to school experiences are far different from our own just a decade or 2 ago.

You didn’t lie DJ. My mind was blown and the truth is, I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes.
WE (Adults all across America) have done this to Our children. Totally abandoned them. Now they must go to school and try to concentrate on learning in an environment that can erupt into sheer H*ll at any given moment leaving them at the mercy of some crazed domestic terrorist ARMED to the teeth with all kinds of Guns and ammunition, H*ll bent on destroying as many lives as possible…courtesy of Gun Manufacturers via the NRA and politicians who’ve sold their souls to the NRA for money and political power.
My. Lord. How could WE have done THIS to Our children and to Ourselves?!
