SARAH PALIN vs THE OBAMA’S
There’s an old saying in the African-American community: “Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’!” And that saying couldn’t be more relevant today in a brewing rift between Sarah Palin and the Obama’s.
In passages from her new book, “America by Heart,” Sarah Palin, who somehow has fooled sees herself as a future President of the United States, seems to be trying to start something up, by taking a cheap shot at First Lady Michelle Obama.
In a passage discussing racial inequality in the United States, Palin slams President Obama, saying he “seems to believe” that “America (as it currently exists) is a fundamentally unjust and unequal country.” But then she goes in on Michelle Obama, with this tirade:
Certainly his wife expressed this view when she said during the 2008 campaign that she had never felt proud of her country until her husband started winning elections. In retrospect, I guess this shouldn’t surprise us, since both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church listening to his rants against America and white people.
It’s one thing to “diss” the President of the United States. But when you go after his wife or his family — well — those are considered fighting words. But the Obama’s are much too smart and too classy to take Palin’s bait, especially since it would only play right into her hands and provide her with the attention and relevance she craves. But in a word of caution to Madam Palin and to borrow the words of Michael Jackson: if “You Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin'” the Obama’s are NOT the ones!
