Donald Trump has uncharacteristically allowed himself to be rebranded with a petty nickname: ‘Scared Little Punk Trump!’
Politics :
It’s been one hell of a week for Vice President Kamala Harris. After President Biden stepped down last week from the 2024 presidential election, Ms. Harris hit the ground running as his heir apparent. She raised over $100 million in just the first 24 hours of her new candidacy. She galvanized tens of thousands of Black women and men, who volunteered their time and money to get her into The White House. She shut down any potential challengers and secured the endorsements of enough delegates to easily secure the nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month. She tightened the race to a virtual tie (Mr. Biden was 6-7 points behind Trump), according to a new poll from The New York Times. She even received the coveted official endorsement from Barack and Michelle Obama on Friday.
For Kamala Harris, the past 7 days have been all lollipops and daisies.
By contrast, it’s been a horrific week for Donald Trump.
He’s been forced to put an immediate halt to all the gloating and grandstanding that he was going to mop the floor with Joe Biden in November. He’s no longer the center of attention in the news cycle — and people have already forgotten about him being shot at as well as the recent GOP convention. His VP nominee, JD Vance, is being panned by both political parties as “non-charismatic,” a “huge mistake,” and the worst VP pick in polling history. Plus, every trick and insult ‘The Donald’ has attempted to use against Kamala Harris has been an epic failure.
Needless to say, Trump is running scared. He’s stumped. Or, to put it another way, he’s now frozen like a deer in headlights and doesn’t know which way to run.
Women with power scare him. Women who aren’t automatically subservient toward him confuse him. Now, combine that with the very real possibility that he could lose the presidential election AGAIN in 2024, only this time to a woman… a BLACK woman. Oh, the very thought is just too much for his huge ego to comprehend.
So, despite his previous chauvinistic bravado that he’d debate anyone, anytime, and anywhere, ‘The Donald’ has backpedaled and pulled out of the previously scheduled September 10th debate against his new challenger, Kamala Harris.
According to Trump, his ‘official’ reason for pulling out of the upcoming debate is because Kamala Harris “is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump,” and because “ABC Fake News is such a joke, among the absolute WORST in the business” (the debate was always scheduled to be on ABC, which he knew when he originally agreed to participate).
Additionally, his campaign claimed that Trump doesn’t want to debate Harris because she is not yet the official nominee and Democrats could still change their minds.
However, considering that the Democratic Convention is August 15th and the debate is not until almost a month later on September 10th, even Stevie Wonder can see Trump is running scared.
“You mean Donald Trump wants to back out of a commitment? Stunning news!” Jane Coaston, a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times said facetiously during a recent appearance on CNN.
She went on to say that it’s clear Trump probably doesn’t want to give Ms. Harris the “respect she would deserve” by agreeing to it.
However, political commentator Elie Mystal took things a step further by adding that Trump doesn’t have the cajones to ever say any of the words he said about Ms. Harris to her face.
“I would like him to say that to her face, right?” Mystal said. “But he won’t because he’s a little punk! Right? And that’s what you always have to remember about Donald Trump. He’s a scared little punk.”
Mystal then went on to mock the “big, strong man,” beating his chest — and reminded viewers that if the MAGA leader wasn’t really Scared Little Punk Trump, he’d be a man of his word and debate whomever the Democrats put on the stage.
David Cay Johnston of SALON believes President Biden’s unexpected resignation from the campaign combined with Vice President Harris’ instantaneous rise to cultural and political icon has proven to be an unmitigated disaster for Trump, as well as all those who feed off him by selling anti-Biden paraphernalia (which no longer has any value or relevance).
“Should Harris win both the popular vote — which is virtually assured — and the Electoral College vote, Trump will be utterly humiliated,” Johnson wrote.
“From Trump’s perspective, it’s one humiliation to lose to Joe Biden, a white man. That was so painful that Trump tried to overthrow our government. [But] Imagine the humiliation Trump will feel if he loses to not just a woman, but a woman of color — half Black and half East Indian. To Trump, that would be far more humiliating than his fragile ego can handle. He lacks the psychological strength to deal with what now seems the likely outcome of the November election.”
The truth is, Trump’s old jokes from 2020 and the juvenile nicknames he frequently gives his political rivals aren’t sticking against Ms. Harris — and he knows it. And, so does the Republican Party. In fact, the party is so concerned that Trump’s usual tactics are no longer landing with voters, that it was forced to call a private meeting last week to warn Republicans to STOP stooping to racial and sexist attacks against Ms. Harris.
Or, in other words, “Dear GOP colleagues, you may continue being the racists and sexists that you usually are. Just tone it down a bit so we can all pretend it doesn’t exist.”
“Emotionally, Trump has been trapped his entire life in confused junior high school boy emotions. Women who stand up to him are vilified, called ‘dogs,’ ‘fat pigs,’ ‘ugly,’ and many vile words, all of which are accentuated in Trump’s hateful mind when the person standing up to him is a woman of color,” Johnson said.
Although the GOP and the Trump Campaign have given the marching orders to avoid any hint of racism or sexism against Kamala Harris, the truth is that Donald Trump has no filter, no patience, and no discipline to avoid going as low as he can go.
No wonder his handlers want to keep Scared Little Punk Trump as far away as possible from a one-on-one situation with the Black, female, former prosecutor who just might become the next President of the United States.

Donald ‘Scared Little Punk’ Trump won’t debate Kamala.
The Hill: Vice President Harris’s campaign on Friday depicted former President Trump as frightened to have a debate against the expected Democratic presidential nominee. In an email with the subject line “Many People Are Saying: Donald Trump Is Scared to Debate Kamala Harris,” the campaign outlined that Trump and President Biden had agreed to two debates, one on June 27 and the other on Sept. 10, before Biden dropped out of the race. “But now, Trump is backing out. Canceling. Withdrawing. Refusing to participate. Hiding in Mar-a-Lago,” the campaign said. The Trump campaign said Thursday it would not agree to a general election debate with Harris “until Democrats formally decide on their nominee.” Earlier this week, Trump said he will be willing to debate Harris more than once but signaled he may not be willing to participate in the ABC event scheduled for September. Harris on Thursday told reporters she’s… Read more »
