Senate Could Flip
Back To Democrats

Things are not looking good for Donald Trump and the Republican Party.  In fact, the outcome is expected to be so bad for the GOP come election day, pollsters are already predicting Democrats might not only win the White House, but the U.S. Senate too!

Politics
It’s the nightmare scenario down-ballot Republicans have been hoping and praying would never happen, but now seems inevitable. The candidacy of Donald Trump is operating at such a negative, several GOP congressmen and senators are now perfectly positioned to lose on election night right alongside “The Donald.”

Oh, say it ain’t so!

If Donald Trump somehow wins on November 8th, Democrats will need to pick-up 5 seats to win back control of the Senate. However, if Hillary Clinton wins (as is now expected), Democrats will only need to secure 4 seats, since the vice president would be able to break any tie votes. For many Republicans, those numbers are far too close for comfort.

Currently, Democrats have a clear advantage in winning 3 GOP seats, while 5 seats are still toss-ups. This means all they’d have to do is win the 3 seats they already have an advantage in, then find just 1 more state where a Republican is vulnerable and it’s game over.

The races at risk include seats held by Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk, Indiana Rep. Todd Young (currently in a contested race for the senate against former Sen. Evan Bayh), and Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina. Additional vulnerable GOP seats include Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri, and Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.

In order to prevent a trickle-down meltdown, Donald Trump would need to maintain a margin within 2 to 4 points of Hillary Clinton. However, if “The Donald” is unable to do so and continues to slide, it could be a dark day for Republicans on November 8th.

Yep. As things look right now, it certainly is possible the Dems could take back the Senate and even gain seats in the House. But sadly I have only the slightest bit of confidence that a Dem majority in the Senate will actually work on behalf of the American people this time. I am reminded of the Dems being in the majority when Pres. Obama was first elected in 2008. They maintained their majority for 2 yrs and during that time they were absolutely worthless, which is why the lost the majority in 2010. In fact, far too often the Dems have shown themselves to be cowards, complicit and corrupt….just as corrupt as Repubs. So the truth is I'm sick of both parties. But I'm voting for Hillary because she's not insane. She is a fighter, very intelligent and capable of leading Our country in the right direction. I also… Read more »
