SAD MATRIMONY NEWS TO REPORT: The marriage between Steven Slater and JetBlue Airways is no more!
After a profanity laced tongue lashing of a female passenger followed by a dramatic exit down an inflatable emergency chute last month, the former flight attendant became somewhat of an overnight celebrity. He garnered national and international media attention and even got more than 200,000 people to join his fan page on FaceBook. Slater seemed to revel in his new-found celebrity, loving the spotlight and hoping to flip it all into something more lucrative, or at least to get him his job back. Neither happened.
On Saturday, JetBlue spokesperson Jenny Dervin announced the “divorce” between the airline and Slater was final, saying only that as of last week he was no longer employed by the airline, but refusing to elaborate further.
Oh well… if 2 crazy kids like Slater and JetBlue can’t make it, what hope do the rest of us have?
