SO LONG, CONAN!

Spread The Love
61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals
After only 7 months on the job and much controversy and brouhaha over recent weeks, today is Conan O’Brien’s final day as host of THE TONIGHT SHOW on NBC.  The show will go on hiatus for the Winter Olympics, but return March 1st with Jay Leno back for round 2 of hosting duties.

Conan was paid more than $40. million (including $12. million for his staff) just to go away, which could soon be right into the waiting arms of FOX television, which is reportedly interested in creating a late night show for Conan to compete with Jay Leno on NBC, David Letterman on CBS, and Jimmy Kimmel on ABC. Conan originally received a raw deal from NBC and never really had a chance to survive with the ill-fated JAY LENO SHOW in prime time as his ineffective lead-in.  But there’s often a silver lining in even the darkest clouds, as this whole debacle could turn out to be a big boost for O’Brien, and a big bust for Jay Leno.  More to come!
