SUPERBOWL XLVI
It’s a tried but true theory: defense wins championships. The New York Giants proved that theory true last night with a formidable defensive front line in a nail biter 4th quarter win of Superbowl XLVI.
If you missed the big game, here are the highlights:
Kelly Clarkson delivered a powerful National Anthem and kicked off the annual fun.
Doritos and Coca-Cola presented the most memorable commercials during the game, with the Coke series of cartoon polar bears likely the hit of the night. Geico also scored big with their new piglet ads, featuring a little piggy crying “wee wee wee” all the way home. But Cars.com had arguably the worst ad of the night, which featured a 2 headed man (one head was supposed to be his conscious) attempting to buy a car. Weird!
Madonna was this years half-time entertainment, along with special guests Nikki Manaj, LMFAO, Cee Lo Green and a host of talented singers, dancers and acrobats. The 50-something Madonna proved she still has it, providing one of the most visually stunning and spectacular shows in Superbowl history.
But the main event of the night was the action on the field between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The marquee match-up of quarterbacks Tom Brady and Eli Manning did not disappoint. But in the end, the Lombardi trophy went to New York.
Oh what a night!
That was one of the best games I can remember. Eli handled his business just like hes supposed to. Good win for the underdog Giants. But I gotta say that halftime show from Madonna was the truth. Your right DJ, she definitely still got it.
