I hope you are right DJ this issue makes people go vote. The public has proved it has a short memory so I am not confident they will keep this up until the next election. But I hope you are right. The thing I know you are right about is these justices are about to go after everything else they can get their hands on. Rights are about to start disappearing left and right.

I view most American voters – especially young voters – as “microwave” voters. Something sparks their interest and/or outrage, FOR A MINUTE – and they’re fired up! Then literally in no time at all their interest and/OR outrage dissipates to no interest or outrage at all.

The only genuine exception in recent times being the George Floyd killing. I was amazed at how long and strong people’s interest AND outrage lasted. All the way until Chauvin was convicted. But I digress.

Maybe just maybe THIS action by right-wing Justices in the U.S. Supreme Court has captured Our (most American voters) attention in a way that will prove to be the lasting change in mentality (value Our right to Vote) and putting feet to concrete (fight to protect Our rights) that WE need.

Maybe.

DJ, I had hoped you would continue with this discussion today...and you did not disappoint. Thank you! “Women are going to go to vote in numbers we have never seen before,” Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar said on CBS. “If they want to protect their fundamental rights to reproductive choice or their fundamental rights to anything, they had better go vote in the fall.” h/t: DJ

I wish I shared Sen. Klobuchar's belief in women voters now coming out to "vote in numbers we have never seen before" - especially young adult women; and Lord knows I hope she's right. But sadly, I'll have to see it to believe it.
