SURPRISE! THERE’S A NEW GOP LEADER

Spread The Love

ATTENTION MITT ROMNEY:  Don’t get comfortable yet and think you have the GOP presidential nomination all but locked up.  Your own party seems to have other plans.

In case any OK WASSUP! readers have been keeping score in the “Anybody But Romney” contest, first Republicans preferred Michele Bachmann over Romney.  Then it was Rick Perry.  Next up was Chris Christie and Sarah Palin — neither of whom were even running.  Now, guess who’s at the top of the GOP totem pole?  Wait for it…  Herman Cain!

Yes, you read correctly: HERMAN CAIN!!!  The man whose never held one elected office in his entire life.  Not even local dog catcher.  Yet Republicans want to hand him the reigns as their nominee, and eventually the keys to the White House.

In a stunning new poll conducted by NBC/WSJ, 27% of Republicans now prefer Herman Cain for president, while only 23% prefer Mitt Romney and 16% prefer Rick Perry.

Either Republicans are unbelievably fickle, or they’d rather hand the nomination for President of the United States to a political novice like Cain, rather than see Romney get it.

Oh Mitt… when will you ever learn?!?

<span><span>Lol. Now THIS is funny!       As someone who pays pretty much no attention to ANY poll, this poll means nothing to me.        But polls do mean something to a lot of Americans..and many of them vote…so for them (especially right-wing voters) this could be major, in terms of the message it sends to the GOP "establishment;" to Romney and his team; AND to the political pundit-idiots and other cable news *know-nothings* and hacks who blather on-and-on in the American MEDIA.        Okay so THREE things are perfectly clear to me now:         1. The Republican party is in complete disarray. The fighting factions of the GOP are very publicly turning on each other (almost unheard of before), as each faction stakes out its claim for control of the party, resulting in the GOP literally being EATEN ALIVE from within.          2. Romney is an incredibly Weak, so called "front-runner" within HIS OWN party. Perhaps the weakest front-runner… Read more »

<span>Hey DJ….I thought perhaps you might find THIS interesting too?    Public Policy Polling (PPP) released their National poll results yesterday (following the GOP debate Tuesday evening) and their results are: Cain 30%, Romney 22%, Gingrich 15%, Perry 14%   Read: http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2011/10/c…</span><span> And just in: Rasmussen's latest poll results: Cain 29% Romney 29% Gingrich 10%   Read:<span&gt <a href="http://;http://www.rasmussenreports.com/#&panel1-1</span&gt;” target=”_blank”>;http://www.rasmussenreports.com/#&panel1-1</span&gt;   I'm thinking um…right about now PANIC is beginning to set in among the GOP "establishment" and their media cohorts.    It's still too early to tell where all this is leading. But talk about being *STUCK on STUPID*..smh.   The Christie endorsement of Romney earlier this week was about the WORSE thing that Romney and the GOP "establishment" could have it done at this time. They did it right after the Rev Jeffress "Mormonisn is a Cult" dust up and it smacked of a kind of "IN-YOUR-FACE" endorsement to many of the "Anyone-but-Mitt" crowd (tea-partiers and talibangelical voters), otherwise known as "the GOP base."    With Perry still in free-fall, the "base" appears to… Read more »
