TEA PARTY vs. JAMES HOFFA
The Tea Party is “piping” mad, after recent remarks from a certain liberal has him in “hot water.”
Tea party leaders are calling on the White House to denounce several controversial comments made by Teamsters president James Hoffa on Labor Day — remarks that critics say called for violence against Tea Party members.
On Monday, Hoffa was introducing President Obama in Detroit at a Labor Day rally. During the introduction, he likened union fights to a “war” and a “battle” between union workers and tea partiers, and described union supporters as Obama’s “army.”
“Everybody here has got a vote,” Hoffa said. “If we go back and we keep the eye on the prize. Let’s take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.”
Tea Party members and conservatives immediately jumped on the comments, saying Hoffa’s words were inciting violence against the Tea Party. They also called on the White House to denounce Hoffa’s remarks as unnecessary and over the top. GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann even started using Hoffa’s rant in a fundraising pitch for her struggling campaign.
No word yet from the White House if or when they will address Hoffa’s Tea Party tongue lashing.

Nonetheless: Personally, I do NOT condone Hoffa's remarks. Stooping to the level of right-wing extremists is NOT the answer for Democrats. But neither is kissing the rear-end of right-wingers who insist the President should denounce Hoffa's remarks. Clearly, Hoffa did the President no favors with his comments and under normal circumstances (the President being the Class-act that he is) Pres. Obama probably would like to denounce some of Hoffa's heated language. However, since becoming President, Obama has allowed himelf to be painted as a "weakling" and his "base" feeling demoralized by that perception is chomping at the bit for some "Man-Up" red-meat of their own, which I think now leaves… Read more »
