Teachers With Guns: Trump’s Insane Idea

Spread The Love

Donald Trump believes the answer to America’s resurgence of school shootings is not fewer guns, but rather MORE guns. In fact, he wants to arm teachers with guns!

Current Events
Yes, according to “The Donald,” an elderly educator shooting a gun across a classroom of kids in order to protect them from a crazed school shooter is a beautifully bright idea. Thankfully, many sane Americans with an actual brain and the ability to reason are heckling Trump for even considering teachers with guns.

“It’s a crazy proposal,” said Dr. David Hemenway, a professor of health policy at Harvard School of Public Health and an expert on the public health impact of gun violence. Chuckling, he added, “So what should we do about reducing airline hijacking? Give all the passengers guns as they walk on?”

Avery Gardiner, co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, called it a “colossally stupid idea.”

“If having more guns in more places made Americans safer, then we would have the lowest rates of gun violence in any developed country in the world, and the exact opposite is true,” she said, calling the notion that “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun” a myth.

Teachers With Guns

To sweeten the pot, Trump has suggested giving bonuses to those teachers willing to pistol carry in the classroom.

So, um… we (supposedly) can’t afford to pay a decent salary and living wage to America’s teachers, yet we can somehow afford to pay bonuses to those teachers with guns???

Get real!

THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!

And let the Church say Amen!

Why of course this idea is INSANE! After all it was “thunk up” by the NRA and then sold to Donald as a “great idea”!?! You really cannot make this stuff up….smh!

Seriously. We’re in a world of trouble here folks with the dangerous fools we have running this country. And we’re stuck with those fools until 2020 when Hopefully….Prayerfully….WE (the sane people of America) THROW the whole dangerous lot OUT of office.

So here are two of the most PREDICTABLY disastrous consequences of such an INSANE idea on my list: 1. TEACHERS with GUNS and a Higher threat to the lives of Black and brown Children In addition to the OBVIOUS threat this would pose for everyone on campus, THIS would pose an even BIGGER threat to the lives of EVERY Black and brown person on campus (students and staff alike). If I were a parent of Black (or brown) kids, I’d take my kids out of the school system altogether and do Home-schooling. No way I’d trust Black or brown kids to be safe at school. No way. 2. The psychological and emotional toll it will undoubtedly take on ANY teacher who actually ends up shooting someone, especially if the person shot is innocent and/or ends up DEAD. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say – my guess… Read more »

Business Insider: ‘I’ve never been so unimpressed by a person in my life’: Parkland shooting survivor delivers a biting critique of her phone call with Trump A student who survived the mass shooting last week at a high school in Parkland, Florida, had some terse words for President Donald Trump, who she said called her on the phone while she was recovering in the hospital. Samantha Fuentes told The New York Times she did not feel comforted by Trump, who she said seemed insincere during their phone conversation. “He said he heard that I was a big fan of his, and then he said, ‘I’m a big fan of yours, too.’ I’m pretty sure he made that up,” Fuentes told The Times in a story published Thursday night. “Talking to the president, I’ve never been so unimpressed by a person in my life,” Fuentes said. “He didn’t make me feel… Read more »
