Team Clinton Already
Planning Transition

It’s not overconfidence, it’s just necessary. Team Clinton is already planning her transition to becoming President of the United States.

Politics
No, the self-described superstitious Hillary Clinton is not counting her chickens before they’ve hatched. Instead, she’s looking beyond any “tit-for-tat” with Donald Trump and at least giving consideration to a potential Clinton administration.

As Mrs. Clinton herself would say, the election is not over until it’s over. She recognizes people still have to actually cast a ballot to vote and she is taking nothing for granted. However, it would be a critical error for her to not at least consider a future as leader of the free world.

“She’s not being arrogant, she’s being diligent,” a top Democrat close to Mrs. Clinton said. “She prepared for the debates. Now, she’s getting ready to be president.”

Sources say Mrs. Clinton is nearing a final decision as to who her top advisers in the West Wing would be, including who she might name as White House chief of staff. Reportedly high on the list of prospects is Ron Klain, who led her debate preparation team and served as chief of staff to former Vice-President Al Gore and Vice-President Joe Biden. Additionally, campaign chairman John Podesta, who also served as former President Bill Clinton’s chief of staff, is strongly under consideration as well. Podesta has made it known that he is interested in being named as a cabinet secretary or serving a Clinton White House in some capacity.

The Team Clinton transition team is being led by former Interior Secretary and Colorado senator Ken Salazar. Additionally, 2 longtime Clinton confidants, Ann O’Leary and Ed Meier, are overseeing a small transition staff in Washington. The Rev. Leah Daughtry, the chief executive officer of the Democratic convention, is leading the personnel department.

Politics
Vice-presidential candidate Tim Kaine has also hired a transition director, in preparation for a likely win.

Wayne M. Turnage is now handling transition efforts for Mr. Kaine.

Turnage previously served as chief of staff to Kaine while he was governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, and served as state deputy secretary of health and human resources and adviser for special projects for Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.). Turnage heads the D.C. Department of Health Care Finance.

Team Clinton is also giving advance consideration to healing a divided nation. The ugliness of the 2016 election and the red-meat rhetoric stirred up by Donald Trump already has Mrs. Clinton secretly reaching out to Republicans, in an effort to test the waters on how they could work together. Mrs. Clinton may also deliver a unity speech to the nation to heal election wounds and pave the road for coming together as Americans.

I agree. It is "necessary" and it's certainly wise. But she should also show wisdom in going about it as low-keyed as possible.

After all – this thing ain't over yet. And until the last vote vote is counted and it's confirmed that she's won, there's still the possibility (though slim) that Trump could win.

She and her campaign staff need to keep THAT in mind.

Mr. BD

I don't want to jinks anything but I do understand she has to prepare. Like Truth said long as she keeps it low key it should be ok.
