TEEN + PLANE + iPHONE = BRAWL!

Spread The Love

As the old saying goes: “These damned kids today have no respect.”  Well, that old saying couldn’t be more relevant after a senior citizen got mad as hell and just couldn’t take it anymore.

Last week, 68-year-old Russell Miller was traveling on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to his home in Boise, Idaho, when a 15-year-old ignored the flight attendant’s request to turn off all electronic devices.  Despite safety pleas the teen continued playing games, listening to music on his iPhone, and ignoring anyone who asked him otherwise.

That’s when the 68-year-old Miller decided it was time to take matters into his own hands and teach one of today’s youth a lesson about respect.

First an argument ensued.  Then an in-flight fight broke out, prompting Miller to punch the teen right in the arm.

Although his fellow passengers were grateful Miller was willing to stand up to the disrespectful teen in the interest of safety aboard, unfortunately, Miller’s actions were illegal.  He was arrested after disembarking the plane and may also face civil charges from the teen’s parents.

Oh well… at least someone was willing to dish out a dose of discipline to the disobedient teen.

I'm not agreeing with the older man's actions (getting into a fight with someone else's 15 y/o kid). But I understand the man's frustration!   Sadly, America has become a society where many_if not most_of our youth population have NOT been raised/taught by their parent(s) to respect themselves, their elders, OR anyone else. 🙁
