Texas Rep Recommends
$100 Masturbation Fine
A Texas state lawmaker has proposed a $100 penalty fine for every time a man masturbates. She also wants to impose a 24-hour waiting period for any man wishing to have a colonoscopy or a vasectomy, as well as the same mandatory waiting period for any male in need of Viagra.
Health
Yes, Democratic Rep. Jessica Farrar knows there isn’t a chance in hell of her bill being passed — but passing it was never her intention. She only introduced it to give male lawmakers a taste of their own medicine and show them how it feels to have politicians with laws take control over women’s bodies.
For years, the State of Texas has made it extremely difficult for women to retain the freedom over their own bodies and obtain an abortion. Having long been an advocate of women’s health, Farrar wanted to point out the sexist double-standard in existing laws and magnify the obstacles women encounter when it comes to their health care.
“Let’s look at what Texas has done to women,” Farrar said. “What if men had to undergo the same intrusive procedures?”
She has a point. Would male lawmakers actually allow politicians to fine them for masturbating? Would they permit laws that purposely make it difficult for them to obtain certain medical procedures or help with sexual dysfunction?
Of course not!
Needless to say, Republican (Male) lawmakers were swift to lash out at Farrar and her proposal, including one congressman who recently proposed a bill that would charge abortion providers and women receiving abortions with murder.
“I’m embarrassed for Representative Farrar. Her attempt to compare to the abortion issue shows a lack of a basic understanding of human biology,” Rep. Tony Tinderholt said in a statement. “I would recommend that she consider taking a high school biology class from a local public or charter school before filing another bill on the matter.”
Despite Rep. Tinderholt’s recommendations, Farrar has, in fact, done her homework and knows exactly what she’s doing. By naming her bill “A Man’s Right to Know Act,” she has taken an intentional jab at the pamphlet “A Woman’s Right to Know” that Texas doctors are required to give women seeking abortions. As for Tinderholt and others who wish to ignore the correlation between masturbation and abortion, Farrar has that base covered as well. She says the act of self-gratification is a direct failure to preserve the sanctity of life and is “an act against an unborn child.”
Interestingly, the Texas pamphlet has often been criticized for being inaccurate, outdated, ideologically influenced by religion and designed not to inform, but rather to discourage women from getting abortions.
“We have real lives to deal with,” said Farrar, who pointed out that Texas has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world. Sadly, she is correct. The rate of women who died from pregnancy-related complications doubled from 2010 to 2014, according to a recent study.
Texas has yielded its control over a woman’s right to choose via strict laws and an extremely low lack of clinics. Additionally, Texas doesn’t allow abortions for women past the 20-week mark unless their life is endangered. Under this law, women who are pregnant with an unviable fetus are forced to carry to term. Additionally, women must receive state-directed counseling, must have an ultrasound and a provider must describe the image of the unborn child to the woman.
For Farrar, she wants lawmakers to consider how men would feel if they were mandated to receive state-directed counseling in order to masturbate or to purchase and use a condom.
Would men put up with laws that limited their options and their freedoms?

Texas lawmaker wants masturbation fine.
I commend Democrat Rep. Farrar on flipping the script on the Republican male lawmakers of Texas. She dared to give them a taste of their own rot-gut medicine and of course they couldn't "swallow" it. Truly, there are some really sick-azz, Authoritarian men in this world and clearly the Republican party is infested with them. That said…………… Those sick-azz male lawmakers didn't vote themselves into office. The truth is, in far too many states across this country it is WOMEN who are to blame for this madness. Far too many are complacent or just plain weak. WE have failed ourselves and our daughters by not fighting back against those men. WE have "yielded control over Our body -and Our right to choose, " via strict laws and an extremely low lack of clinics" Look at the fool sitting in the White House. An admitted sexual predator. And still, he even… Read more »
