The Terrible Trump Week That Made Him Miserable!

Spread The Love

WOMP! WOMP! Let’s take a look at the TERRIBLE Trump week that has absolutely routed Donald Trump and his re-election hopes over the past week.

Politics
Oh, say it ain’t so. Could ‘The Donald’ be losing his Midas touch? One look at the poor national poll numbers that has Donald Trump trailing Joe Biden by double digits, the damning John Bolton book, the DACA Supreme Court decision, the LGBTQ Supreme Court decision, the botched firing of the US attorney from the Southern District of New York, and the failed Trump Tulsa rally — all within a matter of just a few days — and one could argue that the terrible Trump week for ‘The Donald’ is perhaps the worst he’s ever had.

BOLTON SINGS

Throughout the week, Donald Trump pulled every legal maneuver possible to halt the release of “The Roon Where It Happened,” the much-anticipated memoir from former National Security Advisor John Bolton. According to Trump, the book contains classified information that he claims is a threat to national security. However, once Trump realized the clock was ticking and he’d likely fail to prevent the book from going public, he switched strategies and claimed that the book had received poor reviews and was loaded with lies.

Too bad Trump never explained how the book could contain credible national security info in need of protection and be full of lies all at the same time, or how it could receive bad reviews BEFORE it was even published.  Still, Trump took his fight to the courts and received an unexpected ruling.

“For reasons that hardly need to be stated, the Court will not order a nationwide seizure and destruction of a political memoir.,” DC district judge Royce Lamberth said in his ruling Friday. “In taking it upon himself to publish his book without securing final approval from national intelligence authorities, Bolton may indeed have caused the country irreparable harm. But in the Internet age, even a handful of copies in circulation could irrevocably destroy confidentiality.”

The book was published over the weekend and the terrible Trump week spiraled downhill from there.

SUPREME COURT SURPRISE!

When Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to schedule a confirmation hearing for former President Barack Obama’s final choice for the US Supreme Court, Republicans jumped for joy at the thought of being able to stack the deck with conservative judicial appointments who would do their bidding once Donald Trump was in the Oval Office.

Too bad, their scheme hasn’t quite worked out the way they anticipated.

Justice Neil Gorsuch and Chief Justice John Roberts

.
On Thursday, the US Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump may not proceed with plans to put an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that protects people brought to the United States as children by shielding them from deportation and allowing them to work. The ruling came only a day after the court ruled that it is illegal to fire or otherwise discriminate against someone in the workplace for being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.

Interestingly, Chief Justice John Roberts (who was appointed by George W. Bush and is traditionally conservative) joined the court’s 4 liberal members in upholding the DACA executive action created by President Obama. Then, if that wasn’t enough, Trump-appointee Justice Neil Gorsuch joined Chief Justice John Roberts and the court’s 4 liberal justices in the ruling that protected members of the LGBTQ community.
.

The court’s previous refusal to overturn Obamacare combined with their current act to save DACA and uphold protections of LGBTQ employees prompted an angry Trump to call for new justices — or at least ones who would ignore the rule of law and do whatever HE wants politically.

THE FRIDAY NIGHT MASSACRE

Late Friday night, US Attorney General William Barr announced that Geoffrey S. Berman, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, had resigned.  Not long after, Berman came forward and announced publicly that he had not resigned and never would.

Terrible Trump Week

The bold move prompted Donald Trump to stage a late-night firing of Berman, who he wanted out of the way for conducting an ongoing investigation into the Trump organization, Trump’s personal finances, as well as Rudy Giuliani and others.

Trump had his own hand-picked successor in mind to take over the post.  However, Mr. Berman’s deputy and not the administration’s favored replacement was chosen to succeed him.  Or, in other words, the Trump investigations in the SDNY will continue — at least until Trump can come up with another trick to halt justice.

.

TULSA

Once news broke that 6 Trump campaign staffers tested positive for COVID-19 while preparing for the big Trump Tulsa rally, that should have been a sign of things to come.

And then, this happened:

Terrible Trump Week

Or, didn’t happen — as the “empty arena” photos so clearly depict.

“Trump is in freefall, presiding over the worst public health crisis in a century, the highest unemployment rate since World War II, the biggest sustained protests in decades. He is losing in the Supreme Court; his poll numbers are nosediving. And in the 24 hours before this rally, his administration launched a shambolic effort to push out a prosecutor who is investigating criminal cases targeting people close to Trump.” – CNN

.
Poor Donald Trump.  He just can’t seem to catch a break.

Mr.BD

When you put it all together like this almost every problem is something Trump caused himself. The man is his own worse enemy. Plus it does not look like anything is getting better before the election. With everything already going on with him, I am going to go out on a limb and say if some people from that rally come down with the virus, Trump is done. He put them all at risk and if they get sick I think his supporters will turn on him.

Mr.BD

About John Bolton and his book, he is saying nothing in it we didn’t already know. I saw his interview on Sunday and it was a bunch of bs. He said he thinks Trump is a threat to national security. Well if he is Bolton should have testified and said all that in the impeachment but he did not. If all the enablers like Bolton would have come forward and stop protecting him, Trump could have been gone a long time ago.

Truthiz1

Preach BD! You’re absolutely right.

Bolton “ain’t” said nuttin’ new…he just laid it all out in first-hand detail which he chose NOT to do during the impeachment trial, when it truly mattered. He’s every bit the slimy and poisonous snake that Trump is. Maybe even moreso. And in my book both are traitors to this country.
