‘The View’ Cancels Hasselbeck
It seems as if ABC’s “The View” has had enough of Elizabeth Hasselbeck and her right wing conservatism.
Only hours after Joy Behar announced she will leave the show this August after 16 years, a new report says Hasselbeck will also be departing — but not by choice. Producers at “The View” have apparently realized that viewers have tired of Hasselbeck’s conservative act, concluding that Hasselbeck is not the reason why viewers tune in to the show.
“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing,” a production source said. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”
Elisabeth, who became an official co-host in 2003, is by far the show’s most polarizing figure. Viewers either love her for being an outspoken Republican in showbiz, or they despise her for having such radically different views from their own.
