Thin-Skin Trump vs. Ryan, McCain,
and Everyone

Thin-Skin Trump has struck again!  Just this week alone, not only did Donald Trump pick a fight with the Muslim-American family of a fallen U.S. soldier, but he also picked a fight with 2 prominent members of his own political party — and it’s only Wednesday!

Politics
Thin-skin Trump TWITTERYes, Thin-Skin Trump — the new de facto leader of the Republican Party, who tweets nasty messages at 3am like a scorned school girl to anyone who dares to disagree with him — is simply too sensitive to remain silent. So, instead of fighting the real battle against his actual political opponent, Hillary Clinton, he waged a completely unnecessary war against House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sen. John McCain.  You just can’t make this stuff up, folks!

Like most things Thin-Skin Trump says or does, his GOP colleagues have become accustomed to regularly being forced to distance themselves from his brand of logic. Such was the case this week when Trump attacked Khzir Khan and his wife, who are the Gold Star parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in service to his country. Ryan and McCain quickly issued statements to admonish Trump for attacking the parents of a fallen American hero.  They also wanted to protect their own reputations and to salvage whatever scraps are left of the GOP.

Thin-Skin Trump didn’t appreciate yet another public chastisement of him.  So he threatened to take his marbles and go home by refusing to support Paul Ryan and John McCain during their upcoming reelection campaigns. SO THERE!

In an interview on Tuesday with The Washington Post, Trump announced he will not back Ryan in his primary election next Tuesday in Wisconsin, or McCain in his Arizona primary later this month. His reason? Both men criticized his belittling of the Muslim parents.

“I like Paul, but these are horrible times for our country. We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there yet. I’m not quite there yet,” Trump said when asked if he would support Ryan. If those words sound familiar, they are the exact words Paul Ryan used when he was initially asked about supporting Trump. Now, Thin-Skin Trump is doing what he does best and getting revenge.

Thin-Skin Trump RYAN

As for his other fellow Republican, Trump also made it clear “I haven’t endorsed John McCain.

“I’ve never been there with John McCain because I’ve always felt that he should have done a much better job for the vets,” Trump continued. “He has not done a good job for the vets, and I’ve always felt that he should have done a much better job for the vets. So I’ve always had a difficult time with John for that reason because our vets are not being treated properly. They’re not being treated fairly.”  Also, Trump doesn’t consider McCain a war “hero” because he was captured and a real hero would never be captured.

Politics
Naturally, the Democrats are having a veritable field day with the Republican antics. After all, they don’t have to spend a dime on TV ads. They don’t have to create talking points for news shows. All they have to do is sit back and allow Donald Trump completely destroy HIMSELF!

Thin-Skin Trump OBAMAHowever, President Obama couldn’t help but wade a bit into the fray.

On Tuesday, not only did he reiterate that Donald Trump is totally unfit to be Commander-In-Chief, but he challenged Republicans to stop covering for him and to just come right out and denounce his candidacy.

“What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?” the president asked of GOP leaders. “This isn’t a situation where you have an episodic gaffe. This is daily and weekly where they are distancing themselves from statements he’s making. There has to be a point at which you say, ‘This is not somebody I can support for president of the United States, even if he purports to be a member of my party.’ “

Mr. Obama’s words were earnest, but also political. By challenging Republicans to withdraw their support of Trump, he made it completely impossible for them to actually do so, for fear of appearing to be his puppet. So, he wisely painted them into the perpetual corner of having to apologize for and distance themselves from Trump’s words and deeds, while at the same time appearing to eagerly support him for president.

Well played, Mr. President!

Well played, Mr. President! [….] …and Well Said DJ. The truth is, it took me minute to figure out just what the President was up yesterday with his comments. But by last night it became clear to me. And your last paragraph sums it up beautifully! In addition to all the madness unfolding thus far courtesy of the Repub's presidential nominee, there is also his "Purple Heart" story which is getting a lot of attention this morning. And there's THIS….… Read more »

…..perhaps a bit of a Repub tidal wave AGAINST Trump is beginning to form(?)………….

CNN: Top Jeb Bush adviser leaves GOP, will vote for Clinton if Florida close

CNN: Ex-top Christie aide backs Clinton over Trump

CNN: Meg Whitman: I will vote for, and donate to, Hillary Clinton

Meg Whitman, a major GOP donor and former California gubernatorial candidate, said Tuesday she would support Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, making her one of the highest-profile Republican defections.

"Donald Trump's demagoguery has undermined the fabric of our national character," Whitman said in a statement. "America needs the kind of stable and aspirational leadership Secretary Clinton can provide."

Whitman, the president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, also said in an interview with the New York Times she would use her considerable resources to make a contribution to the Clinton campaign and its allied super PACs. […]

Mr.BD

Oh brother another day another Trump problem. Obama said it the best yesterday when he said this is how it would be if we let Trump in the White house. Everyday there would be a new problem. But Repubs built this problem so I blame them. They thought if they gave Trump the nomination he would come around but he hasn't. Instead he seems like he is getting worse. So they keep going on tv saying they support him, until now that Trump is going after their boy Paul Ryan. If he keeps fighting Ryan all hell is going to break lose. No way this can end well.

Mr. BD

LOL oh yeah I forgot to say all the while Trump is ruining himself the Democrats are sitting back laughing. They don't have to lift a finger, just let him hang himself.

Truthiz1

BD, we knew Trump was gonna give Hillary plenty of help and we said as much right here on Ok Wassup!

But this really is ridicules.

Now that fool is looking around for a scapegoat reason for why he's most likely going to lose (probably in a landslide) to Hillary in November. by already yelling "the system is rigged."

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan's re-election bid Wednesday, a day after running mate Donald Trump declined to do so.

In a phone interview with Fox News, Pence backed the Wisconsin congressman in his bid against a primary challenger. The Indiana governor said Trump and Ryan would "do great things" if elected.

"I spoke to Donald Trump this morning about my support for Paul Ryan, our longtime friendship. He strongly encouraged me to endorse Paul Ryan in next Tuesday's primary. I'm pleased to do it," Pence told Fox. [….] CNBC

Meanwhile news media are also reporting…………..

"Key Republicans close to Donald Trump are planning an “intervention” with the GOP presidential nominee"

Gingrich and Giuliani reportedly will spearhead said intervention.

Conservatism is dead within the Republican party. The sooner that conservatives realize this and join forces under a new banner, the sooner we'll become the prominent voice of American politics. We've got to stop thinking that we are Republicans. That ship has sailed. […]

LGF Reader:
Trump is falling apart before our eyes. Hated and despised by main line Republicans. Far more enemies than friends and a trend that is diving against him. However, Donald Trump believes it is "rigged," is it possible he is complicit in the rigging of the results against himself? […]

"Trump’s Temperament" Excerpt: Such is Donald Trump’s vanity and sense of grievance that he cannot help himself, even when his actions are demonstrably damaging his campaign — and even when the people closest to him are warning him to knock it off and get back on course criticizing Hillary. If he can’t stifle it for the sake of advancing his own political interests, how is he going to control himself when the national interests are at stake? What happens when there’s an international crisis because some foreign leader insults Trump’s honor (such as it is)? A man with this kind of temperament in charge of the world’s biggest and most advanced fighting force is terrifying. If Khizr Khan and John McCain can get under his skin and into his head like that, how in the heck would he manage Hassan Rouhani and Kim Jong Un — to say nothing of… Read more »
