As 2020 draws to a close, we have another “Tops” list to share. This time, it’s a list of the Top 3 Republican hypocrites to end the year.
Top News Today
Republicans in all branches of government engaged in a delicate dance of hypocrisy in 2020. For example, in their attempt to appease the sore-loser ego of Donald Trump, high-ranking Republicans in Congress appeared in public as cheerleaders of Trump’s failed “The-Election-Was-Rigged” campaign — while privately congratulating Joe Biden on his win and apologizing for being unable to admit it publicly. Additionally, some within the GOP jumped on Trump’s bandwagon for a “do-over” election, while privately praying for it to never happen since it would negate their own wins in the same election. Then there’s the hypocrisy of Mike Pence who led the Coronavirus Task Force and issued myriad guidelines for the American public to follow, then frequently paraded around The White House without a mask at Trump-hosted parties and social gatherings involving hundreds.
Yes, Republicans have shown their stripes and proven they are an interesting species of contrasting hypocritical ideals. However, 3 within the GOP camp are true standouts at the close of 2020. Let’s take a look:
.
3.) NEW YORK POST
After endorsing Donald Trump for president in 2020, the Rupert Murdoch (Fox News) owned New York Post made a complete 180-degree turnaround on Monday by pulling their support for the man they hoped would win but didn’t.
In a headline that read “STOP THE INSANITY,” The Post told Trump in no uncertain terms that he lost the election and it’s time to save his legacy.
“Mr. President, it’s time to end this dark charade,” the newspaper said of Trump’s continued campaign to overturn the election results. “You have tweeted that, as long as Republicans have ‘courage,’ they can overturn the results and give you four more years in office. In other words, you’re cheering for an undemocratic coup,” it continued.
The New York Post previously backed Trump’s wild claims of voter fraud and supported his conspiracy theories that he was cheated by “Deep State” operatives. Now, all of a sudden, they are the protectors and purveyors of democracy?? HYPOCRISY!

2.) THE ‘COVID-Is-Fake’ GANG
GOP Senators Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, Joni Ernst, and others led the pack in downplaying the coronavirus pandemic while mocking the wearing of masks. However, they were the first in line last week to get the new COVID vaccine as soon as it became available.
“I know I looked away from the needle. And yes, I know I need a tan. But I am so confident that the #Covid19 vaccine is safe & effective that I decided to take it myself,” Rubio posted after getting the vaccine while wearing a mask.
“Thank God for nurses who help people in need and know how to use a needle. Thank God for those who produced these vaccines,” tweeted Graham before adding: “If enough of us take it, we will get back to normal lives. Help is on the way.”
Needless to say, they were both immediately flamed on social media and named among the Top 3 Republican hypocrites of 2020.

Something wrong when Marco Rubio — who downplayed COVID and mocked people wearing masks — is among first to get the vaccine.

“Something is wrong when Marco Rubio — who downplayed COVID and mocked people wearing masks — is among first to get the vaccine,” said former Labor Secretary Robert Reich. “Really great to watch Republicans who did nothing to address the pandemic line up to vaccinate themselves before teachers, nurses, and other frontline workers,” added journalist Brandon Friedman. HYPOCRISY!

1.) DONALD TRUMP
When the US House of Representatives voted to impeach him in 2019, Donald Trump pulled a 9-year-old’s tantrum and vowed to never speak to Speaker Nancy Pelosi ever again. So, when it came time to negotiate a COVID relief package for the American people, Trump dispatched Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to barter on his behalf.
At the 11th hour and just before jobless benefits were set to expire, Mnuchin, Pelosi, and congressional leaders from both parties reached an agreement to get money into the hands of Americans before rent protections and other programs lapsed. The bill passed both houses of Congress and all that was left was for Donald Trump to sign it on Christmas Eve and save everyone at the very last minute.
Except, he didn’t
Despite sending his own negotiator to the table to speak on his behalf, Trump balked that the agreed-upon $600 stimulus check to each American wasn’t enough and should be $2000 instead. Granted, the dollar figures came from Trump himself — which made it nonsensical that he would suddenly take issue with a figure that he had himself approved.
Christmas Eve came and went. Jobless benefits, rent protections, and more all expired at the end of last week. Americans were left scrambling to figure out what to do next.
And then, Trump magically decided to sign the bill.
HUH??? HYPOCRISY!
.
Granted, the once Grand Ol’ Party has proven it is a bedrock of hypocrisy. So, it’s no wonder we easily found these Top 3 Republican hypocrites within just this last week of the year.
No wonder the Republican Party is near death.
