Get ready, America. The Donald Trump assassination attempt is the opening of Pandora’s Box and the beginning of the end.

On Saturday, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed a rooftop just outside the perimeter of a Donald Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and waited for the MAGA leader to begin speaking. Moments later, Crooks cocked his high-powered rifle and released several rounds of gunfire. A single bullet tore through Trump’s right ear, only missing his head because the GOP presidential candidate turned to look at another area of the crowd at the last second. A millimeter to the right and the bullet would have gone through his skull. He immediately dove to the ground, blood oozing from the right side of his face. Regrettably, the bullets meant for Trump instantly killed a rally attendant and seriously wounded 2 others.
Following news of the shooting, President Biden issued a statement before giving an impromptu television address to the American people.
“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information,” the president said.
“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it,” he added.
“There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy,” former President Barack Obama wrote on Twitter/X. “Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.”

“Violence has no place in America, especially in our political process. Hillary and I are thankful that President Trump is safe, heartbroken for all those affected by the attack at today’s rally in Pennsylvania, and grateful for the swift action of the U.S. Secret Service,” said former President Bill Clinton.
The Trump assassination attempt immediately underscored the heightened political tension in the country, mostly fomented by Trump’s own vitriol and violent rhetoric. However, the shooting also opened Pandora’s Box and has almost assuredly provoked someone on the “Trump side” to seek revenge against the Democrats.
“American politics has recently become trapped in a state of simultaneous stability and instability. It is stable in the sense that there are clearly defined and seemingly unshakeable partisan divisions. It is unstable in the sense that those divisions have grown so deep and so bitter that they threaten the basic faith in political coexistence that any democracy needs to survive,” said Zack Beauchamp, a senior correspondent at Vox.
“When someone on one side is attacked, the other becomes more likely to respond in kind. We should all be terrified about what comes next.”
Truer words were never spoken.
Politics in America have become emotional. Instead of respectful differences of opinion that are put aside at the end of the day because we’re all Americans, the temperature has risen to a degree of “Us vs. Them.” It’s that same mentality that ignited the US Civil War.
Interestingly, Donald Trump and his bombastic and divisive personality are almost wholly to blame for America’s current state. Still, that doesn’t excuse anyone for staging a Trump assassination attempt — or an attempt on the life of anyone.
The Trump shooter is now dead at the hands of quick-thinking Secret Service agents. However, the scary part is that a host of MAGA gun owners seeking revenge are busy plotting how they will respond in kind with their own brand of violence.
Donald Trump’s life was spared — and his tit-for-tat mentality still lives on.

The Donald Trump assassination attempt = revenge.
CNN: Moments after Donald Trump was rushed to safety following a failed assassination attempt at a Saturday night rally, some of his supporters turned toward the press pen with obscenities as they fingered reporters for blame. “This is your fault!” one attendee emphatically yelled, pointing at individual journalists as he approached the fence line separating them from attendees. “This is your fault!” “It is your fault!” exclaimed another. Axios reporter Sophia Cai, who quoted some in the crowd warning the press, “you’re next” and that their “time is coming,” even reported that a few rally goers tried to breach the barriers establishing the press pen, but that they were stopped by security personnel. In the immediate wake of the horrific shooting attempt on Trump’s life, which resulted in the tragic death of one rally attendee and the severe wounding of two others, the news media has quickly emerged among some… Read more »
