Trump Diatribe Is A Gift For Democrats
A recent Donald Trump diatribe combined with ultra-right-wing conservative issues among Republicans is proving to be a welcomed gift to the Democratic Party.
Politics :
Yes, folks, Donald Trump’s greatest enemy is Donald Trump. The man simply can not get out of his own way — which was on full display over the weekend with a good ol’ fashioned Donald Trump diatribe that has already not only hurt Trump himself, but his GOP colleagues running for office.
During a Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night to support the candidacies of Doug Mastriano and Mehmet Oz, ‘The Donald’ went on a “hell be damned” Trump diatribe, forgot about the candidates he was there to back, and made the evening all about himself.
He called President Joe Biden an “enemy of the state.” He called members of the Department of Justice “vicious monsters.” He even stoked anger amongst his MAGA sycophants to rally against law enforcement and the FBI.
“There could be no more vivid example of the very real threats of American freedom than just a few weeks ago you saw when we witnessed one of the most shocking abuses of power by any administration in American history. The shameful raid and breaking of my home Mar a Lago was a travesty of justice,” Trump cried.
“The FBI and the Justice Department have become vicious monsters,” Trump continued. “It was not just my home that was raided last month. It was the hopes and dreams of every citizen who I’ve been fighting for.”
Next, he took aim at President Biden.
“Joe Biden came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to give the most vicious, hateful, and divisive speech ever delivered by an American president…..He’s an enemy of the state,” Trump concluded.
Now, at least one Republican is criticizing the Trump diatribe, saying it will not only hurt Trump in the court of public opinion, but fellow Republicans running for office.
“I have to be honest with you, if any member of Congress absconded with classified material I can assure you that somebody from the FBI is showing up at their homes and demanding they return that information, so I am not so sure that the former president Trump did anyone any good with that speech tonight,” former GOP Rep. Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania said.
“Just by showing up in Pennsylvania, he’s making the election much more about himself and, of course, most Republican candidates don’t want anything to do with Donald Trump in this general election,” Dent explained. “They want this to be about Joe Biden and the Democrats, but to the extent that Trump inserts himself into this conversation, he’s giving the Democrats a major gift right now.”
Interestingly, Donald Trump is not the only Republican guilty of hand-wrapping a political gift to Democrats.
According to HuffPost, the Republican Party grossly miscalculated how Americans would feel about the end of Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose. Now, multiple GOP officials running for office this November are scrubbing their websites of any mention of the word “abortion” and walking back opinions they once quoted as non-negotiable.
One such Republican is Blake Masters, who is the GOP nominee from Arizona for the US Senate. Until recently, Masters’ campaign website boasted that he is a “100% pro-life” candidate who fully supports “a federal personhood law (ideally a Constitutional amendment) that recognizes that unborn babies are human beings that may not be killed.”
Now, all mentions of Masters being a pro-life candidate have miraculously disappeared.
The same goes for Republican state Sen. Tom Barrett of Michigan, who is running for a US House seat.
Until recently, Barrett was telling anyone who would listen, “I will always work to protect life from conception.” Now, his words and his position have vanished from his website.
Coincidence? Or, the 11th-hour realization that ultra-right policies and beliefs are becoming unelectable?
As Donald Trump continues to drag Republicans further to the right with his rhetoric, Sen. Lindsey Graham threatens violence in the streets if Trump is ever indicted, and GOP candidates jump out in support of ending a woman’s right to choose and marriage equality, Democrats are quietly licking their chops as they watch Trump and his Republican cohorts implode.

Trump diatribe becomes gift to Democrats
Bloomberg: Donald Trump used a Pennsylvania rally to vent his anger at an FBI search of his Florida home and President Joe Biden’s attack on political extremism, staking his claim as his successor’s election rival in 2024. Declaring Biden an “enemy of the state,” Trump mixed support for two Republican candidates with a rejoinder to the president’s speech 48 hours earlier in Philadelphia, where Biden denounced what he called anti-democratic forces within the Trump movement. Trump then launched into a grievance-filled speech about the FBI search, the five-year-old investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia, former opponent Hillary Clinton’s emails, the outcome of the 2020 election, crime rates, the Mexican border and the social-media giants his own company is now competing with — while lavishing praise on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping. “We’re going to take back America and take back America,” Trump said. “And in… Read more »
