Trump Friend-To-Foe Club Is Growing
Now that John Bolton has become the newest member of the Donald Trump Friend-To-Foe Club, Trump’s choice circle of so-called friends isn’t looking so hot.
Politics
For years, the self-centered and braggadocious Trump has always claimed that he and he alone could obtain only the best people to work within his administration in order to “Make America Great Again.” Well, how has that gone for ‘The Donald’? Hmmm…not so well.
After initially rewarding Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama for being an early supporter by naming him attorney general, Trump later soured on Sessions because he chose to follow the law and refused to be his “fixer” in the Russia election-collusion probe.
“I would say if I had one do-over, it would be, I would not have appointed Jeff Sessions to be attorney general … That was the biggest mistake,” Trump said. “You know, the only reason I gave him the job is because I felt loyalty. He was an original supporter.”
Yes, without participating in whatever whim Trump desired — no matter if it was right or wrong or legal or illegal — to defy and deny him meant instant membership in the Trump Friend-To-Foe Club. And that’s exactly what Sessions got.
The same can be said for John Kelly, who initially served as Homeland Security secretary but was later hand-picked to become Trump’s White House Chief Of Staff.
Initially, Kelly was the cat’s meow. Then, he started telling Trump the truth instead of what he wanted to hear which earned him — you guessed it — free membership in the Trump Friend-To-Foe Club and a lifetime of badmouthing from ‘The Donald’ and his flunkies.
“I worked with John Kelly, and he was totally unequipped to handle the genius of our great President,” current White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham actually said of the 4-star general earlier this week.
“He just wants to come back into the action like everybody else,” Trump added of Kelly after learning that the general believes John Bolton and his claim that Trump did offer a quid pro quo to Ukraine.
The same can be said of Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen, Omarosa Manigault Newman, H.R. McMaster, Rex Tillerson, Steve Bannon, Anthony Scaramucci, and a host of others.
.
They were all great — until they were no longer willing to do Trump’s immoral and/or illegal bidding. They were all the “best of the best,” until they confessed to either the Mueller investigation or a grand jury that Donald Trump was conducting some very nefarious business behind West Wing doors.
Then, like magic, they all went from being “the best people” to “liars” who were suddenly under liberal control and out to get him. Then Trump and his fanatics turned on each of them and banished them to the land of irrelevance in the Trump Friend-To-Foe Club.
So, here’s the question: if Donald Trump were really such a good judge of character who legitimately had the lone capacity to select “only the best people” to run his administration, how did he get it so wrong with so many people?
Or, could it be that it’s ‘The Donald’ who has been lying all along?
Oh, say it ain’t so!
Lol. DJ, there you go having a bit of fun with us.
Even Trump knows that “the best people” avoid him like the plague. No one with even an ounce of actual self-respect, dignity and integrity would be caught dead working for Trump. No One.
He knows he had no choice but to choose from among folks who are most like himself…Bottom of the barrel types. People of extremely low-character who are either Corrupt by nature (like him) or predisposed to easily being Corrupted.
However, his error was in believing they would always be loyal to him no matter what. Never occurred to him that just like himself…….they can’t be trusted. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
