Trump Georgia Rally: ‘Me, Me, Me!’

- Donald Trump turned a Georgia rally for GOP candidates into another anger-fest about him

Spread The Love

The Donald Trump Georgia Rally on Saturday was supposed to be an opportunity to excite voters to re-elect 2 GOP senators from the state. Instead (and as expected), it was nothing more than a ‘Me, Me, Me’ fest.

Politics
“You know we won Georgia, just so you understand,” were the very first words ‘The Donald’ uttered at the Trump Georgia Rally for Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. The 2 sitting GOP senators will face Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in a special runoff election on January 5th that will decide control of the US Senate.

.
“Let them steal Georgia again, you’ll never be able to look yourself in the mirror,” Trump continued. Again?? His choice to ignore electoral reality meant he also ignored the fact that President-elect Joe Biden won the state of Georgia by roughly 12,500 votes. However, Trump still hasn’t let it go. In fact, he WON’T let it go. Ever!

So, instead of arriving in Valdosta, Georgia to sing the praises of Loeffler and Perdue and to give a detailed account as to why they should be given another term in the US Senate, his message and purpose were clear: “Me, Me, Me!”

Trump launched into a medley of his greatest hits, including “This Election Was Rigged,” “It’s All A Conspiracy,” “This Is Fake News!” and more — while going off on the diatribe that because he has never been a loser before, there is no way possible he could be a loser now.

Yet, the facts are the facts and the results couldn’t be more definitive. After 3 Trump-mandated recounts in Georgia, the state tabulation remains overwhelmingly for Joe Biden.

Still, that hasn’t stop Donald Trump from pulling out all the stops to save face and to save his presidency.

.
During the Trump Georgia Rally, ‘The Donald’ spoke for 90 minutes but only allowed Loeffler and Perdue to speak for a combined 60 seconds.

He walked an extremely tight rope, whining to the crowd that the election was rigged at the highest levels, while simultaneously and half-heartedly attempting to convince voters to trust democracy this time and to still turn out to vote in January.

Earlier in the day, Trump made a do-or-die telephone call to the Republican governor of Georgia begging him to throw away his state’s votes and to hand-pick electors who will certify Trump as the winner (in defiance of the voters’ will) on December 14th. Gov. Kemp politely refused.

.

After recently pardoning his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, Trump and the newly-pardoned Flynn attempted to concoct a Hail Mary plan to declare Marshall Law, throw out the results of the entire election, and stage a “do-over” vote.

Why is Donald Trump going to such great lengths to serve another 4 years in the Oval Office, you ask? Does he really love the job of being president so much that he can’t imagine having to let it all go?

Um, no!

Donald Trump is not hoping to return to The White House. He’s hoping to avoid being sent to jail.

Aside from the perks of the presidency that stroke his ego and allow him to pardon his friends and exact revenge against his enemies, Trump recognizes that the moment he can no longer hide behind the shield of the presidency is the moment he and his entire Trump clan can be thrown behind bars for myriad crimes conducted over the years.

He doesn’t give a damn if he sets fire to democracy and completely ruins confidence in the voting process, or throws supporters such as the governor and secretary of state of Georgia under the bus for not doing his bidding, or risking the lives of voting machine technicians, the secretary of state, election officials, and those who’ve been involved in the recounts by encouraging death threats from his MAGA sycophants. He also couldn’t care less about doing any actual work in the waning days of his presidency, or helping to fight against the rapidly rising death toll in America due to COVID, or about working with Congress on a financial stimulus package to help those citizens who are running out of food and money and could soon be evicted from their homes. No!

Trump Georgia Rally

Donald Trump only cares about saving Donald Trump. However, despite his many “Me, Me, Me” rants and raves, it’s too bad he’s the last to know the fat lady has already sung.

Politico: Republicans’ hopes in next month’s Georgia Senate runoffs are running headlong into outgoing President Donald Trump’s spurious allegations about what happened in November. During a feverish weekend of campaigning on behalf of Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, which included visits from Trump and Vice President Mike Pence and a Sunday night debate in the special election, Georgia Republicans continued to indulge Trump’s untruths about the last election, while imploring their backers to show up for the next one. Continued GOP control of the Senate depends on voters getting that message. In interviews with more than two dozen voters in the state over the weekend, not a single person told POLITICO they thought Joe Biden won the election, despite two recounts in Georgia and elections being certified in enough states for him to be above 270 electoral college votes. Some of the voters said in interviews that Perdue and Loeffler… Read more »

DJ, his trip to Georgia was always about him, himself and no one else. You knew that. I knew that. We all knew that.

But THIS is the part of your post that has NOT gotten nearly enough attention in the news media and it should alarm ALL Americans who actually give a d*mn about Our country and Our democracy:

[After recently pardoning his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, Trump and the newly-pardoned Flynn attempted to concoct a Hail Mary plan to declare Marshall Law, throw out the results of the entire election, and stage a “do-over” vote.]

I wonder how many Americans truly understand what Flynn actually proposed?!

Trump doesn’t know what Fascism is. He couldn’t spell it if his life depended on it let alone embrace it as a governing philosophy. No. He’s just a perverse and extreme manifestation of White male privilege who has been allowed to impose his ignorance, his delusions, his FAKE machoism and will on other people his whole life because of his FATHER’s wealth.

But Flynn…now he’s another dangerous creature altogether. He knows darn well what Fascism is. And that’s exactly the kind of government he would support in a heartbeat.

So the question is: How many more high ranking American military officers long for a Fascist type authoritarian government “characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy”…?

In conclusion: Trump is playing a role. He’s always playing a role to serve himself and only himself.

But Flynn and his traitorous ilk? They are for real and their words should be taken seriously.

Trump said this to his throngs of supporters: “I love the poorly educated.” And THEY cheered him on. Flynn and his ilk are watching Trump supporters very closely.

The next “great white hope” to rise in America won’t be a moron. He will have a brain (intelligence). And he will APPEAR to be genuine and competent. He won’t make the mistakes that Trump has.

I know I am late to the party today. But Truth made some good points. Trump is a light weight. The one to be worried about is Michael Flynn. Even still I cannot see how they would get away with throwing a whole election away. DJ is correct Trump is trying to stay out of jail so he is getting desperate. Good for Kemp to tell him no and hang up the phone.

Truthiz1

I absolutely agree with you BD. Trump and his minions will not be able to overturn this election. And frankly, that’s thanks mostly to Repub leadership in “red states” that Biden clearly won AND Repub appointed Judges who refuse to throw their reputations away by betraying their country and democracy…not even for Trump’s sorry azz.

The point I was trying to make in referencing Flynn and his treasonous ilk is that they now know there IS a sizeable population of Americans out there who are “poorly educated,” hateful AND gullible enough to support a fascist dictator.

If WE (the majority of Americans) fail to fully understand that that threat is very Real at some point and time in the near future, WE will wake up with someone worse than Trump in the White House!

Hey Truth I also think a lot of Repubs are tired of Trump and want him gone but cannot say it. He is fighting with Barr now and Barr said he might resign. A whole lot of them are ready for him to be out.

TIME Magazine: More Americans Supported Hitler Than You May Think. Here’s Why One Expert Thinks That History Isn’t Better Known’ These days, and especially since the deadly rally in Charlottesville, Va., last August, it has become clear to many Americans that the specter of Nazism in their country is not resigned to 1930s history. But until very recently, even that part of the story was less well known than it is today.   In fact, when Bradley W. Hart first started researching the history of Nazi sympathy in the United States a few years ago, he was largely driven by the absence of attention to the topic. Hart’s new book Hitler’s American Friends: The Third Reich’s Supporters in the United States argues that the threat of Nazism in the United States before World War II was greater than we generally remember today, and that those forces offer valuable lessons decades later… Read more »
