RWG, let me just say, as a (mostly) Conservative Democrat, I appreciate your Conservative Republican voice. You call it like you see it regardless of your party affiliation. And even when we disagree you keep it Civil and on point.

In other words, you have grown on me..lol And I'm grateful your voice is part of the mix.

MEXICO CITY — Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on Thursday canceled a planned visit to the White House amid outrage in Mexico about President Trump’s efforts to start building a border wall, in what appeared to be one of the most serious rifts in years between Washington and a critical ally.

Trump later asserted that the meeting was called off by mutual agreement and said that under the circumstances, it would have been “fruitless.” – WashPost

The State Department’s entire senior-level management staff resigned on Wednesday, The Washington Post reported.

CNN later reported that the officials were actually fired by the Trump administration as part of an effort to “clean house.” Patrick Kennedy, the under-secretary for management, was reportedly aiming to stay with the department, but resigned suddenly on Wednesday along with his top staffers described by the Post as “career foreign service officers.”

It was unclear why exactly Kennedy, who was working closely on the department’s transition after Donald Trump was elected president, decided to call it quits. David Wade, former chief of staff for John Kerry, called it “the single biggest simultaneous departure of institutional memory that anyone can remember, and that’s incredibly difficult to replicate.” He added that such positions are extremely difficult to fill. Those who left were reportedly career foreign-service officers who’ve served in both Republican and Democratic administrations. […] – TPM, The Daily Beast

"This is like watching some slow motion train wreck, with the box cars now running off the fallen bridging, plunging down into the water one by one. If it didn't portend bad things for the country, it would almost be entertaining to watch"

Greets and salutes from the NYC metro area.

Looks like more and more people are waking up to the realization that Trump is a sociopathic liar who can’t even remember what he said or wrote previously. Mental illness or not, a person like this is a danger to themselves and those around them even in the best of circumstances.

Instead, we’ve got enough people in the nation who thought he should be president. The GOP continues to cover for him, and we’ve even got some Democrats approving his completely unqualified nominees – this latter bit pisses me off to no end.

Trump has no moral center/compass. And he’s gutting our nation’s moral compass with all the assorted statements and claims. Attacking the Geneva Conventions is a signal that he’s going to enable those who believe torture works.

This is nasty business we’re in, and it’s going to get a lot worse. Don’t expect the GOP to offer any relief, not when their agenda is this close to getting rammed through a pliant and supportive Congress. They are more than willing to take a compromised president who will lie about everything and doesn’t even know the powers of his own office or how anything operates, when he rubber stamps their plans.
