Trump NYC Rally Promotes Divisiveness, Hate
As the 2024 presidential election enters its final week, everybody is talking about the vile Donald Trump NYC rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
Politics :
Fulfilling a lifelong dream to play Madison Square Garden and see his name in lights, Donald Trump was joined at his rally by such MAGA stars as Elon Musk, former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson, Dr. Phil, RFK Jr., as well as former pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan.
In what was supposed to be his moment to bring home the message of the Trump/Vance campaign in this final week of the election, Trump did exactly that and was true to form. Or, to put it more succinctly, he unabashedly displayed his usual brand of bigotry, hatred, and negativity to the 10th power.
With Donald Trump’s blessing, supporter David Rem called Kamala Harris the “anti-Christ” while others referred to her as “the devil.” Businessman Grant Cardone claimed Ms. Harris has “pimp handlers.” Radio host Sid Rosenberg referred to Hillary Clinton as a “sick son of a bitch,” before adding “The whole fucking party. A bunch of degenerates. Lowlives, Jew-haters, and lowlives. Every one of ’em. Every one of ’em.” Tucker Carlson took shots at the vice president — who is Black and Indian American — by calling her “the first Samoan, Malaysian, low IQ” presidential nominee.
Of course, the MAGA crowd of sycophants regularly referred to undocumented immigrants as “those f*cking illegals” while proudly wearing T-shirts that said “Voting For The Felon” and “F*ck Joe Biden.”
However, the absolute low point of the Trump NYC rally came with a performance by so-called comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who used his timeslot to vomit racial slurs about Latinos, African Americans, and other groups that Trump desperately needs to support him.
After mocking Black people by saying they’re carving watermelons for Halloween, calling Palestinians rock-throwers, and going with an old antisemitic claim that Jews are cheap with money, Hinchcliff took time to attack Latinos.
“Latinos love making babies. There’s no pulling out. They come inside, just like they do to our country,” Hinchcliffe said as the MAGA crowd roared with laughter. “There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”
The backlash was immediate.
GOP Rep. María Elvira Salazar of Florida tweeted that she was “disgusted” by the “racist” rhetoric that she claims “does not reflect GOP values.” Sen. Rick Scott of Florida called the alleged jokes “not funny” and “not true,” while GOP Rep. Anthony D’Esposito of New York said, “The only thing that’s ‘garbage’ was a bad comedy set.”
Realizing that Donald Trump could take a huge hit in the polls with a loss of Latino voters, Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser to Trump’s campaign, said in a statement that Hinchcliffe’s “joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
GOP strategist David Urban also chimed in by posting the hashtag #TrumpLovesPR.”
Gov. Walz and @AOC react to this clip: “When you have some a-hole calling Puerto Rico ‘floating garbage,’ know that that’s what they think about you. It’s what they think about anyone who makes less money than them… I want every Puerto Rican in Philadelphia and Reading and… https://t.co/L5GdSvLJWT pic.twitter.com/y9DQTABM0v

Unfortunately, the damage was already done, and Latinos began rethinking their support of Trump and the GOP.
Shortly after the Trump NYC rally, superstar singer Bad Bunny, who is from Puerto Rico, endorsed Vice President Harris.
“There’s so much at stake in this election for Puerto Rican voters and for Puerto Rico. I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he did NOT do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and competent leader,” the singer told his 45 million Instagram followers.
“That’s what they think of us,” Ricky Martin shared on Instagram while encouraging followers to vote for Ms. Harris.
Luis Fonsi, a Puerto Rican artist known for the hit “Despacito,” wrote on Instagram “Going down this racist path ain’t it. We are not OK with this constant hate. It’s been abundantly clear that these people have no respect for us.”
The Trump NYC rally has been widely compared to an infamous Nazi event held at Madison Square Garden back in 1939, when about 18,000 American Nazis rallied inside the arena while a crowd of about 100,000 anti-Nazis gathered outside to protest.
“There’s a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden,” Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz said on Sunday. “Don’t think that he [Trump] doesn’t know for one second exactly what they’re doing there.”
Tim Walz may be onto something.
On Sunday, Trump advisor Stephen Miller barked “America is for Americans!” His words were an almost exact replica of an old Nazi Germany saying — Nur für Deutsche — which means “Only for Germans!”
OK WASSUP! discusses Politics:
Trump NYC rally goes full racist.
Okay so I have a few thoughts on this Hate rally beginning with this:
I didn’t watch a y of it in real time (I’m back to watching very little cable news at all until Nov. 5th), but I did check out a few highlights and frankly – though the event was absolutely despicable, none of it suprised me at all.
In fact, when I first heard where the rally was to be held, I immediately thought of the American Pro-Nazi rally held at same location in Feb. 1939. And I would posit that MSG, in particular, was chosen Precisely for that reason.
