Trump-Putin Summit Part 2 Canceled/Postponed
Remember that Twitter invitation Donald Trump spontaneously issued the other day to Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend Trump-Putin Summit Part 2 in Washington — an event he not only consulted with NO ONE about but failed to first discuss with his national security team? Well, that ill-advised meeting has now been canceled… err… “postponed.”
Politics
Trump’s Twitter invite to Putin for Trump-Putin Summit Part 2 was never a good idea to begin with, particularly considering how badly “The Donald” botched the first summit. However, it turns out Putin himself wasn’t very keen on mixing it up with Trump again so soon. Not only did he fail to RSVP to the invitation but he instructed an aide to contact Trump with a mere 2-word response: “Not now!”
Putin’s hard pass on the Trump-Putin Summit Part 2 is laughable, but interestingly the right move. Firstly, public sentiment from around the world regarding the initial meeting between Trump and Putin leaned toward more doubt and suspicion about their strange relationship. Such skepticism also seemed to extend to GOP and Democratic congressmen alike, particularly considering Wednesday’s fiery grilling of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Capitol Hill related to Russia.
Then there’s the foreign policy “faux pas” of extending a formal invitation to a world leader via Twitter, which, of course, is NOT the correct protocol no matter how social network conscious Americans are. Donald Trump may be addicted to communicating exclusively via a tweet, but that doesn’t mean other world leaders are interested in following his lead.
In an effort to save face, Trump being Trump announced Wednesday that he personally decided to postpone Trump-Putin Summit Part 2 until after the “Russia witch-hunt” is over. Hmmm… The move was yet another in a string of embarrassing moments for Trump on Russia.

FLIP-FLOP
After 2 years of purposely refusing to accuse Russia of meddling in the US election process, Donald Trump has now surprisingly changed his tune and admitted that he fears Russia is gearing up for yet another election hack during the 2018 midterm elections.
However, don’t celebrate Trump’s flip-flop just yet, since his admission comes with a caveat.
Politics
Trump is now claiming that he expects Russia to hack the midterm election in favor of Democrats because (get ready for this) Putin fears him since “…no President has been tougher on Russia than me.”
(INSERT LAUGHTER HERE)
Yes, Trump’s claim would be laughable if it wasn’t so pathetic. However, consider the possibility that this could be a Trump-Putin setup.
For months, political pundits have expressed that deep disdain for “The Donald” is likely to create a huge win for Democrats across the board this fall. So, if Putin does actually interfere again in an American election and does hack in favor of Democrats, Trump would own the “I told you so” bragging rights and could then launch an effort to nullify “tainted” election results that have so obviously favored the Democrats. After all, why would he claim that he knows Russia is about to (again) infiltrate an US election but then do absolutely nothing to stop it?
Hey, it’s only a theory — but in the world of Trump and Putin, ANYTHING is possible!

Great job DJ. You pretty much hit upon every key point. As does Erin Burnett in that video-clip.
There’s just no end to Trump’s foolishness. And perhaps it’s wishful thinking on my part but umm….he ain’t looking too good to me these days. I really think the relentless and intense pressure he’s under (and coming at him from all directions), in addition to Michael Cohen appearing to turn on him, is beginning to get to him.
To me, he’s always had that “nobody’s home” look in his eyes. But now he’s beginning to also have a “I may really be screwed this time” look in his eyes. That fake alpha dog isht ain’t playing so well these days.
Trumpians will stick with him no matter what. But I think that number may even be shrinking a little. Come the midterm elections in November….We.Shall.See.
And on a somewhat related “folded like a cheap lawn chair” note:
“Meadows backs off impeaching Rosenstein after leadership talks” – The Hill
H/T: Rachelle Maddow last night
Apparently the sum-total of 9 votes Meadow’s got wasn’t quite enough./sarc
My apologies. The actual number was 12 votes.
H/T: Chuck Todd on MTP this evening.
This Ok Wazzup soul brother site is a joke. All you do is crap on the president and point out his faults. He gets enough of that bs from the fake news media.Go screw yourself DJ or whoever runs this mess.
Hmmm…. so, you’re angry because the media and this site regularly point out the shortcomings of the President of the United States?? Would you be happier if we all ignored his faults (as you seem to be doing) and pretended they didn’t exist?? I can’t speak for other media, but rest assured that will never happen here!
