Trump Trial Update: The Trial Of The Century?
It’s being called the “Trial of the Century.” So, let’s take a look at a Donald Trump Trial Update and see what’s behind all the hoopla.
Politics :
Donald Trump is currently on trial in New York City for paying porn star Stormy Daniels to remain quiet about their affair and prevent it from affecting his election chances in 2016. His $130,000 payment to buy her silence was a federal campaign finance violation (since his company’s records were falsified to cover it up) — and that makes it a crime. Now, New York is seeking to right that wrong and hold Trump accountable for breaking the law.
Opening arguments began on Monday and, needless to say, drama is already unfolding. So, let’s take a look at the latest Trump Trial Update:
THE CROWDS ARE ‘BIGLY’
Being the eternal showman that he is, Donald Trump is constantly concerned about his own image and what others think of him. For example, when his 2017 inaugural crowd appeared embarrassingly low on national television (after President Obama’s appeared to be the largest in US history), Trump was furious. He immediately had the photos edited to look bigger, then forced his spokesman to appear in front of cameras and boast “This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration – period!”
Ironically, Trump is once again concerned with crowd size in New York. More specifically, he’s highly concerned that his MAGA sycophants haven’t shown up in droves outside the courtroom to support him. So, he took a page out of his old playbook and exaggerated with “alternate facts” to hide the truth that cameras captured only 1 supporter in attendance.
Trump just claimed that the police have shut down the streets around the courthouse for blocks & that his protesters can’t be here.

Just…not true. There is one pro-Trump person here & the main street along the courthouse is open to traffic. pic.twitter.com/JyrH3ZkNrX
SMARTEST PERSON IN THE ROOM
In another Trump trial update, at least one political analyst is predicting that Donald Trump will override the wishes of his legal counsel and testify on his own behalf.
According to MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos, he believes there is a “decent chance” that Donald Trump will testify under oath for himself.
“I happen to think, and I’m sure I’m in the minority, there is a decent chance that Donald Trump will testify,” Cevallos told MSNBC’s José Díaz-Balart on Monday. “Number one, yes, he believes he is smarter than anyone in the world,” Cevallos said while adding that clients in white-collar crime cases often believe “they have an explanation for absolutely everything.”
“They believe the prosecution is a big misunderstanding — and if they can just take the stand, they can clear up all of the misunderstanding. It is a dangerous way of thinking, and arguably it’s a way of thinking that made them white-collar criminal defendants in the first place,” Cevallos continued.
“So, because Donald Trump has an absolute right to testify, and because he may view this as a lost cause anyway, and he may use it more as a pulpit for a broader audience than the jury, we might see Donald Trump testify,” he concluded.
Talk about a trainwreck waiting to happen!
PLEA DEAL?
In yet another Trump Trial Update, it appears the trial may already be a lost cause. In fact, The New York Times says the US Secret Service has begun considering ways they might protect Donald Trump during a potential prison term.
With that in mind, whispers are warning Trump that it might be time to cut his losses now and seek a plea deal before it’s too late.
In an interview with Salon, attorney Kenneth McCallion (who investigated Trump for racketeering) shared that the jury will soon see Trump as less of a former president and more like a typical defendant, which won’t end in his favor. He added that because the trial is already going well for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Trump should immediately negotiate a plea deal and run.
“I would tell him that you’re running a great campaign and fielding all these cases at the same time. But now’s the time to cut your losses. You can still withdraw from the campaign before the Republican Convention, and you can cut a deal with both the New York state prosecutors and the federal prosecutors. All you have to do is agree to be a regular citizen from now on [and not run for office] and concentrate on your businesses. That’s going to be a win-win situation for you,” McCallion said.
Will Donald Trump take the advice? Don’t count on it!

The Donald Trump Trial Update.
Greetings everyone!
I’m currently away attending a Mental Health Conference at a location that just isn’t that good for internet and mobile phone connections!
Fortunately the connection is good right now. But I could lose it again at any time. 🫤
