Trump Tulsa Rally, Juneteenth, And COVID19

Spread The Love

Donald Trump (and his huge ego) has just been itching to get back in front of his legions of adoring fans — which is why his handlers planned a Trump Tulsa rally for this weekend in Oklahoma.  Interestingly, everything already appears to be going haywire with his big day of adulation.

Politics
The Trump Tulsa rally was originally scheduled to take place on Friday, June 19th, at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.  However, ‘The Donald’ claimed to be unaware that Friday is the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth, the holiday African-Americans celebrate as the end of slavery.  He also seemed oblivious to the fact that Tulsa is the site of the 1921 race riots where the notorious massacre of black residents occurred.

“This isn’t just a wink to white supremacists – he’s throwing them a welcome home party,” Sen. Kamala Harris said last week. This is “overt racism from the highest office in the land,” added Rep. Al Green of Texas.

Kayleigh McEnany

Following their #1 playbook rule to lie, lie, lie, White House Propaganda Secretary Kayleigh McEnany initially tried to save face and convince the American public that not only was ‘The Donald’ very aware that Friday was Juneteenth, but that he was also planning a very special “surprise” for African-Americans at the MAGA event to honor them.

“The African American community is very near and dear to his heart. At these rallies he often shares the great work he has done for minority communities,” McEnany claimed. “He’s working on rectifying injustices … So, it’s a meaningful day to him, and it’s a day where he wants to share some of the progress that’s been made as we look forward and more that needs to be done.”

Well, as Orville once said to Wilbur Wright: “That’s just not going to fly” — and so, Trump was forced to postpone his big rally return to the following day.

“Many of my African American friends and supporters have reached out to suggest that we consider changing the date out of respect for this Holiday,” Trump tweeted on Friday. “I have therefore decided to move our rally to Saturday, June 20th, in order to honor their requests.”
.

Crisis averted, right?  Um… not so fast!

Despite Trump’s repeated claims that COVID-19 is over and that it’s time for us all to “get back to normal,” his next stunt was, as usual, a complete and utter contradiction of his own words.

‘The Donald’ wants his Trump Tulsa Rally packed to the rafters with 19,000 of his loyal and rabid MAGA supporters.  There’s just one caveat: he doesn’t want anyone to sue him in case they contract the coronavirus while listening to him brag about himself.

“I can’t have a rally with, you know, seven seats in between everybody,” Trump said.  However, if anyone gets COVID-19 while attending, well, they’re on their own.

Yes, Trump is requiring all rally attendees to sign a waiver stating they will not hold Trump nor his affiliates responsible if they happen to get sick or, you know, die.

“By clicking register below, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present,” the disclaimer says on the Trump website. “By attending the Rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; BOK Center; ASM Global; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.”

Trump Tulsa rally

Donald Trump has INSISTED that COVID-19 has been defeated and that it is safe for all of America to go back to work and to resume our normal lives.  He’s even berated governor’s who have approached reopening with caution.  However, Donald Trump is now admitting that it’s probably not safe to attend his Trump Tulsa Rally, but his ego requires that he hold one anyway.  So now, he has INSISTED that anyone who attends MUST sign away all rights to sue him in the very likely event someone packed into the arena like sardines happens to contract the coronavirus.

Or, in other words, COVID-19 is over, we should all go back to work, we should all go back to our normal lives, MAGA supporters should load the Tulsa arena to stroke Trump’s ego and help him get re-elected — just don’t sue him when everybody starts to become gravely ill.

Yeah, thanks but no thanks, Donnie!

Lol…Again I laugh to keep from crying.

So I’ll give Trump this much – when it comes to letting all Americans know (especially his supporters) that he absolutely does NOT give a fig about Anyone but himself, he truly IS in a league all his own.

In this case, he’s betting that most of his voters won’t mind signing that waiver so they can attend his rally – assuming it still takes place on June 20th. Note: Tulsa Health Dept. director would prefer the rally to be postponed out of concern for the rising numbers of people testing positive for Coronavirus across Texas, including Tulsa.

Gonna be interesting to see just many Trump voters show up.

Tulsa Health Department director ‘wishes’ Trump rally would be postponed as local COVID cases surge        [Expressing concerns about COVID-19’s increasing spread, the Tulsa City-County Health Department’s director said he wishes the campaign rally for President Donald Trump at the BOK Center on June 20 would be pushed back to a later date.    In an interview with the Tulsa World on Saturday, Dr. Bruce Dart said Tulsa is seeing a “significant increase in our case trends” that makes a large gathering like the rally dangerous for not only attendees, but the president himself.     “I think it’s an honor for Tulsa to have a sitting president want to come and visit our community, but not during a pandemic,” said Dart. “I’m concerned about our ability to protect anyone who attends a large, indoor event, and I’m also concerned about our ability to ensure the president stays safe as well.”… Read more »

Frankly, when you consider the kinds of people who voted for him the first time and still think he’s their great white hope, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if a million Trump voters sign the waiver to attend the rally in Tulsa. It’s just that the guy is such a pathological Liar that you can’t assume any claim he makes is true.

‘Trump Says Nearly 1 Million People Have Requested Tickets To Tulsa Rally’

Amid a torrent of criticism, both locally and nationally, towards a controversial rally scheduled for June 20th in Tulsa, President Trump continues to hype his event, tweeting Monday that almost 1 million people have requested tickets and that he won’t be “shamed” into canceling or postponing it. Look if these fool want to go risk their life just to see Trump then let them. Maybe less of them to vote when November comes around.

Mr.BD

You have to be pretty stupid to sign a waiver about coronavirus so you can go hear Trump talk about the great job he has done to get rid of it. Smh
