Trump Victory Lap Attacks Adversaries

- Vindictive East Room rant goes after all who dared to cross him

Spread The Love

After his sham of an impeachment trial that ended as expected last week with an acquittal, Donald Trump engaged in a Trump victory lap, complete with self-aggrandizing boasts of being a winner and vindictive promises to exact payback against those who dared to cross him.

Politics
The Trump Victory Lap began in earnest last Thursday — a mere 48 hours after GOP Sen. Susan Collins of Maine said she voted to acquit Trump because she strongly believed “he’s learned his lesson.” Well, an emboldened Donald Trump ate those words alive by staging a televised and profanity-laced Trump Victory Lap/”circle-jerk” inside The White House for all the Republican cronies who covered, lied, and cheated to get him off (pun intended).

Trump Victory Lap

In a rambling, off-the-cuff speech from the East Room of The White House, Trump cursed his adversaries, including former FBI director James Comey and Sen. Mitt Romney (who was the lone Republican to vote to remove him from office), then rejoiced over the outcome of the Senate trial by waving a copy of The Washington Post with the headline “Trump Acquitted.”

“Some of the people here have been incredible warriors — they’re warriors,” Trump told the cheering crowd of conservative fanatics who acted eerily similar to followers of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. “And we were treated unbelievably unfairly, and you have to understand we first went through ‘Russia, Russia, Russia.’ It was all bullshit,” he cursed.

“And it never really stopped. We’ve been going through this now for over three years. It was evil, it was corrupt, it was dirty cops, it was leakers and liars, and this should never, ever happen to another president, ever. I don’t know that other presidents would have been able to take it,” Trump barked while driving home the point that he was a victim who overcame the worst adversity ever.

Next, ‘The Donald’ took aim at Sen. Romney, who publicly admitted his faith did not allow him to take an oath of fairness, but then ignore the facts and follow the GOP marching orders to cheat and acquit Trump by any means necessary.

“Then you have some who used religion as a crutch. … Today — never heard him use it before. But today, you know, it’s one of those things. But you know, it’s a failed presidential candidate. So things can happen when you fail so badly running for president,” Trump said of Romney.

Trump then took aim at Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified during the House impeachment inquiry and told the truth about his boss. As a reward for his honesty, he was fired and forcibly removed from The White House by the Secret Service on Friday.

“Fake News @CNN & MSDNC [MSNBC] keep talking about ‘Lt. Col.’ Vindman as though I should think only how wonderful he was,” Trump said of the man who dared to not look the other way and do his bidding. “Actually, I don’t know him, never spoke to him, or met him (I don’t believe!) but, he was very insubordinate, reported contents of my ‘perfect’ calls incorrectly, & was given a horrendous report by his superior, the man he reported to, who publicly stated that Vindman had problems with judgment, adhering to the chain of command and leaking information.”

FYI: Trump and his cronies are now looking for the “whistleblower” (who first alerted government authorities to the Ukraine “quid pro quo” deal) to make him/her pay for following the rules.

“These people are vicious,” Trump shouted from his soapbox. “Adam Schiff is a vicious, horrible person. Nancy Pelosi is a horrible person. And she wanted to impeach a long time ago.

“When she said, ‘I pray for the President. I pray for the — .’ She doesn’t pray. She may pray but she prays for the opposite. But I doubt she prays at all,” Trump declared to chuckles from the crowd. “These are vicious people. They stick together. Historically, I’m not talking now. They stick together like glue … and they stuck together and they’re vicious as hell.”

Trump Victory Lap

Sadly, Donald Trump has somehow convinced himself that an “acquittal” is equivalent to not being guilty. However, one only needs to get clarity from OJ Simpson or George Zimmerman that an acquittal does not spell innocence.

Trump launched his ego-boosting Trump Victory Lap to show the world that he did nothing wrong and NEVER does anything wrong. That sham of an impeachment trial where Republican senators bragged in advance that they were not impartial and were going to acquit no matter what has now given ‘The Donald’ fuel to double-down and do any and everything he wants without recourse or threat of condemnation.  From now until election day, he has a free pass for corruption and constitution-killing/dictator-like dismissal of democracy.

So, sorry, Sen. Susan Collins. Donald Trump has NOT learned his lesson. Your vote and the pathetic vote of your colleagues has only handed King Trump permission to continue to be the monarch he always dreamed he could be.
