Trump vs Biden: The Final Debate
The final Trump vs Biden debate took place on Thursday night. Did it move the needle for Donald Trump? Let’s take a look.
Politics
Trump vs Biden was held on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and covered the topics of COVID, national security, the economy, health care, immigration, race relations, and climate change. Although it was the 3rd scheduled debate between the 2 presidential candidates, Donald Trump canceled the 2nd one because he didn’t want to follow the rules. So, Thursday night turned out to be their 2nd in-person meeting.
The first and only debate between Biden and Trump was widely panned as a trainwreck since Trump acted like a petulant child and screamed and shouted incessantly over Biden — forcing the debate commission to instill a policy of muting a candidate whenever it wasn’t his turn to speak. However, Thursday’s debate turned out to be a different affair.
After days of begging and pleading from his advisers, Donald Trump visibly struggled but kept his cool during the debate and didn’t come off as his usual playground bully who’s hell-bent on getting his way. Several times throughout the night it was clear Trump was biting his lip to maintain composure. In fact, his squirming and overall body language displayed to the viewing public that having to follow rules and remain silent was totally out of character for the man who’s used to getting his way no matter what. Still, Trump was somehow able to make it through the 90-minute deliberation unscathed.

HIGHS AND LOWS
Among the debate topics, several big blows landed throughout the night. Joe Biden hit Trump hard on his continued refusal to release his taxes, on the 545 caged children at the border who’ve been permanently separated from their parents, on Trump’s desire to end Obamacare without having a plan to replace it, as well as Trump’s coddling of white supremacists and his embrace of groups such as The Proud Boys.
“This guy has a dog whistle as big as a foghorn,” Biden said of Trump.
Donald Trump landed only one memorable dig against Joe Biden by discussing his support of the 1994 crime bill, which could cost him votes among African-American men.
“I am the least racist person in this room” – The most racist person in the room (Donald Trump)
.
The low points of the night occurred whenever Donald Trump attempted to make himself the “best” at anything. For example, he said he has done “the most” for Black people than any other president besides Abraham Lincoln. He also referred to himself as “the least” racist person in the room. Needless to say, his words didn’t land and were widely rejected among the African-American community.

SUMMARY
Overall, the Trump vs Biden debate ended as a draw. Interestingly, a CNN poll conducted immediately following the debate revealed that 53% of viewers believed Biden won the night, while only 39% believed Trump won. Additionally, in a poll of 10 undecided North Carolina voters, 8 believed Biden won the debate and 2 felt it was a tie. None of the undecided group believed Donald Trump won.
This is horrific news for the Donald Trump campaign, which entered the evening needing to change the trajectory of the race in Trump’s favor. According to every major poll, Joe Biden is so far ahead at this point that Donald Trump needed a knockout punch in the debate to take Biden down.
Too bad for Trump, it just didn’t happen.

No. He’s going to lose. And I think he knows he’s going to lose. And I pray that his defeat is absolutely decisive.
I didn’t watch any of it but I’ve watched a few video clips this morning. Aside from Trump’s predictable actions (lying and rambling nonsensical babble), his body language was also very telling. He’s already defeated.
But WE shouldn’t take anything for granted or become over-confident. VOTE!
