House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently shared a strange and frightening premonition she endured. Her gut tells her that Donald Trump won’t relinquish power if he loses the 2020 presidential election. Could she be right?
Politics
In an exclusive New York Times article published last weekend, Speaker Pelosi said her feeling is that Democrats can’t afford to squeak out a slim victory in 2020. In fact, anything short of an overwhelming win will empower ‘The Donald’ to refuse to voluntarily vacate The White House.
Yes, you read correctly. Now, imagine a scenario on January 20, 2021, in which Trump ignores demands to relinquish the West Wing and hand over the powers of the presidency.
“We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” Pelosi said amid legitimate fears that Trump might attempt to “poison the public mind” and challenge the authenticity of a slim Democratic triumph.
Her theory is not just hyperbole.
Trump already set the tone when he fired up his base to keep an eye out for “illegal voting” during the 2018 midterm elections, despite lack of evidence. He even pulled a similar stunt during the 2016 presidential election when he falsely claimed that “millions of people” voted illegally for Hillary Clinton. He’s also thumbed his nose at the powers of Congress by repeatedly ignoring demands to hand over his taxes and financial records.
Still, is there any realistic scenario where Donald Trump won’t relinquish power and will outright refuse to accept that his time in the Oval Office is over?
You better believe it!
The Washington Post is reporting that Donald Trump has begun touting the theory that 2 years of his presidency were “stolen” because of the “fake” Russia investigation and that he is owed overtime.
In what would be an absolute destruction of the US Constitution, ‘King Trump’ said on Sunday he should be granted an automatic additional 2 years in office as compensation for time lost during the failed Russia investigation.
Apparently, the idea originated with Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr., who took to Twitter with his pro-Trump/anti-Constitution idea.
“I now support reparations,” Falwell declared while adopting the language Democrats have used to discuss financial atonement toward African-Americans. The evangelical leader then went on to argue that Trump should have 2 years added to his first term “as pay back (sic) for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup.”
Naturally, Trump ran with the idea by retweeting it and adding that despite “the tremendous success” he has had, including “perhaps the greatest ECONOMY and most successful first two years of any President in history,” 2 years of his presidency was stolen that “we will never be able to get back…..”
.
After the best week ever for @realDonaldTrump – no obstruction, no collusion, NYT admits @BarackObama did spy on his campaign, & the economy is soaring. I now support reparations-Trump should have 2 yrs added to his 1st term as pay back for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup

Despite the tremendous success that I have had as President, including perhaps the greatest ECONOMY and most successful first two years of any President in history, they have stolen two years of my (our) Presidency (Collusion Delusion) that we will never be able to get back…..

Although Trump advisors have since attempted to jump out in front of the story and claim that their boss was merely being “playful,” make no mistake, the groundwork for a constitutional crisis is being laid out right before our very eyes.
“I don’t take this lightly because there’s been a persistent campaign by this administration to undermine the rule of law in any number of respects, from not accepting the considered findings of judges because of their nationality or purported nationality to calling judges ‘so-called judges’ or ‘Obama judges,’ ” Jon D. Michaels, a law professor at the University of California at Los Angeles said. “It’s disconcerting.”
“I fear that if he loses the election in 2020, that there will never be a peaceful transition of power,” former friend and personal fixer Michael Cohen told Congress in February. “And this is why I agreed to appear before you today.”
So, pay attention, people, because Donald Trump is showing his hand — and his tenure is not going to end pretty.
Realizing that a loss in 2020 will push him back into the general population and subject him to legal indictments and jail time he has avoided while at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., ‘The Donald’ is already looking ahead.
He will go through with the November 2020 election and attempt to be granted a 2nd term. If he loses, he will push the argument that he is owed an additional 2 years to make up for lost time during the 2 year Russia probe. If all else fails, his last-ditch effort will be a “nuclear” move: Donald Trump won’t relinquish power and will refuse to vacate The White House until perhaps the US military is forced to physically remove him.
This is not make-believe. This is not a game. As Donald Trump himself pronounced during a rally last month in Green Bay, Wisconsin: “I promise at the end of SIX years, I’ll be very happy.”
We shall see, Donald!
Ok I never thought about something like this before and it is a little scary. To be honest I can see all this happening for real and I see the signs it is already being laid out. Talk about being a joke to the world if the army had to go remove a president who would not leave. I know we joke about it on Ok wassup but Trump really does think he is a king or something and no rules apply to him. When we look back on all this in history future generations are going to wonder what the h*ll we were thinking to let this man in there.
