Trumpcare Fails To
Oust Obamacare
Donald Trump is a WINNER! Donald Trump is a DEALMAKER! Donald Trump knows how to GET THINGS DONE! Donald Trump is — eh, not really who he said he was.
Like the Wizard in “The Wizard of Oz,” the curtain has been pulled back on The Great Donald Trump. After promising that he alone can fix America, “The Donald” has proven to be nothing more than a mere mortal behind a curtain.

Trumpcare, the GOP’s supposed answer and perfect replacement to Obamacare, is no more. As of Friday, the Republican Party has effectively given up on being able to repeal and/or replace the existing law. Their version of a new law has been pulled and placed on the scrap pile. In fact, Trumpcare was so bad, it never even made it to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote.
For years, Republicans mocked Barack Obama’s signature health care initiative as the worst invention since New Coke. For years, Donald Trump sat on the sidelines (as a private citizen) and ridiculed Obamacare, promising that he could create something bigger and better. For years, Donald Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and the GOP leadership vowed to repeal and replace Obamacare — to the cheers of an elated Republican Party that perpetually hated Barack Obama and any and everything he ever stood for.
Well, Republicans had 7 years to construct a bigger and better Affordable Care Act. Instead, they haphazardly slapped something together in a matter of weeks, rebranded it as the American Health Care Act (or Trumpcare), then hoped it would sail.
It sank!

Despite controlling ALL branches of government, Ryan was forced on Friday to travel down the hill and deliver Trump the bad news. Trumpcare was a no-go. They didn’t have the votes and simply couldn’t get it done. Obamacare would remain the law of the land.

“We will have so much winning if I get elected that you may get bored with the winning.”
– Donald Trump

‘‘We were a 10-year opposition party where being against things was easy to do,’’ a clearly dejected Ryan said Friday of the GOP’s failure to tear down Obamacare. ‘‘And now, in three months’ time, we’ve tried to go to a governing party, where we have to actually get . . . people to agree with each other in how we do things.’’
“We’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future,” Ryan conceded.

As for Donald Trump, who made Trumpcare his “first-out-the-gate” priority, it was the biggest catastrophe of his extremely limited political career. In fact, former presidential adviser and current CNN political analyst David Gergen called the loss “the worst 100 days we’ve ever seen” of ANY presidency.
.
“I alone can fix it. I’ve been leading all my life. I know how to do this stuff. I’ve been dealing with politicians my whole life … but we will get it done.”

So, how did “The Donald” respond? Forever the consummate snake oil salesman, a defiant Donald Trump deflected blame toward everyone but himself and tried to put the best spin possible on his horrific failure.
“The best thing that could happen is exactly what happened — watch,” Trump claimed. “Obamacare, unfortunately, will explode. It’s going to have a very bad year.”
HUH???
What type of president would actually hope for a law to “explode” simply because it didn’t happen on HIS watch or occur HIS way? The same type of president who would spend years bragging that he alone could come up with something “bigger and better,” waste years not doing it, cram in a “night before the big exam” scenario to make up something — anything (because he never had anything, to begin with), then convince his narcissistic self that he’s so good everyone will magically love it, that’s who!
What Trump failed to realize is that he is no longer on the outside looking in. His role as the eternal complainer-in-chief has now turned into Commander-In-Chief. He is in the driver’s seat. Any American failure is now HIS failure. He can’t be president but conveniently remove himself when the going gets tough. As Harry Truman would say, “The buck stops here.”
So, sorry, Donald. Welcome to politics. Welcome to the big leagues. Despite what you and your “handlers” have consistently told your ego for years, you don’t always lay a golden egg. You are not infallible. You are not unfailing and without fault.
You are but a mere mortal, operating behind the big curtain.

First of all DJ the photos here are hilarious. Ding dong the witch is dead and Trump yelling about I'm the president got me chuckling hard this morning. As for Trumpcare it was doomed to lose from the get go. Like you said Repubs had seven years to come up with something but they didn't. They never had something better, all they had was complaints because they didn't like Obama. They won all the branches of government so it was time to put up or shut up but they choked. As for Trump he thought all he had to do was snap his finger and things happen because he is who he is. Hard lesson for that fool. Repubs look stupid today because all that big talk fell apart right in their faces. Too bad for them.
