TRUMP’S ‘Birther’ SNAFU
One look at his hair and you’ll know that attention craving millionaire Donald Trump is not easily embarrassed. But a bit of a recent boo-boo should have him laying low for at least the very near future.
The millionaire turned T.V. star has always fancied himself a politician. So it’s no surprise that “The Donald” is planning a run for the top prize — the presidency of the United States.
Trump hoped to make a quick and easy splash onto the political scene recently by joining the birther movement, which (oddly) still believes President Obama was not born in the United States. Apparently Trump thought that by joining the birthers, he could hijack their message and grab some headlines in hopes of boosting his own political image.
So Trump began making the television news rounds, claiming he’s not so sure if President Obama was actually born in the U.S. because he won’t release his official birth certificate (a fictional story the birther movement has long been promoting in hopes of diminishing the president’s popularity). And in order to really drive the point home and make a political name for himself ahead of the game, Trump publicly presented his own birth certificate, just to show how simple it was to produce. Except there was one problem: Trump’s birth certificate was not the official document at all, but was a mere hospital copy which is considered unofficial and invalid.
For Trump, it was a classic case of the hunter getting trapped by the game, not to mention a hefty dose of karma and a side of crow.
So let this be a lesson to you Mr. Trump — don’t criticize someone else’s home when your own isn’t under control.
